I can't believe it! What the heck was he thinking? We'll probably see a weepy Matt explaining to his kids what he did wrong and how proud he is of all of them and how lucky and special his life and family is.
Now, this isn't an insult, we just LOVE this show at my house, but, he's sooooo sappy with these kids that they just walk all over him. Then he wonders why they're so lazy. Humph. I hope that everything works out for them and that it comes back for another season.

Gasp! Matt was just arrested for DUI (according to Perez). I saw that! It's gonna be hard to explain that away, Matt! I bet that his wife kicks his ass the whole way across the pumpkin patch and then throws him across the farm with the trebuchet! Hee! I saw this on the local news this morning - I meant to post it here and I'm kinda surprised that Perez picked up on the news. But yeah - when I saw him on the news this morning I immediately thought, "Oh, man. Amy is gonna be pissed. He is gonna be sleeping in the doghouse for a long time."

Well, fortunately he built that "Men's Crisis Center" in the barn. Now I wonder if it has a wetbar? Hopefully it has an air mattress because that's where he'll be sleeping for a while.
Ha! So true.

Okay, I did a little internet search to find the story, and it looks like he was arrested last month, not today. And it said he failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breathilizer test. Okay, seriously, how in the world do you perform a field sobriety test on someone who can't walk without crutches?

Ooh, that's a good point! Hmm, I don't like the sounds of it at all. And him refusing to take a breathilizer is very interesting. Oh, Matt!

Okay, I did a little internet search to find the story, and it looks like he was arrested last month, not today. And it said he failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breathilizer test. Okay, seriously, how in the world do you perform a field sobriety test on someone who can't walk without crutches? Well, to be fair, the walking test is just one of the many sobriety tests that can be done. I think there are something like 10 different tests that officers can do. Instead of a walking test they can do finger to the nose tests to see balance. I think one of the most common ones for alcohol involves questioning repeatedly to make sure that the answers are coherant and that a story is not changed too many times. Or asking them to do math or say their social security number to see if they're confused. I would imagine that with drivers who use wheelchairs outside of a car they'd have fallback tests when they can't rely on making you walk a straight line. They're all voluntary though so if he resisted the breathalizer, he should have refused to do the tests. I think most lawyers say you should never take a breathalizer test at all if you ever hope to win the trial. If they do a breathalizer they can prove that you are drunk and how drunk you were. But if you refuse, they can only rely on their witness accounts and those are debatable so you have a better chance of getting off with probation or community service or something. (I swear I am not a drunk but in college I was pulled over and asked to do tests after I dropped a CD on the floor of my car and bent over to pick it up while I was driving running a red light in the process. Yeah, not a great driver. Anyway, I hadn't been drinking so I passed with flying colors and afterwards I looked into the whole process because it freaked me out.)

For some reason I find it highly amusing that Matt smiled for his mug shot.
Don't know why, exactly - maybe because if I were ever arrested I'd probably be a crying, red-faced, snot-nosed mess.

The fans of the show are sounding off at their official website's message boards. There's a section where Matt answers questions and is a frequent visitor to the board. So far, he hasn't returned or given any information about why this took over a month to hear about and via Perez/TMZ.com.
Not looking so sweet.

My local news just reported that this isn't Matt's first time weaving around the roads - back in 2003 was charged with DUI, but got the charge dropped when he took a 16 week alcohol treatment course (he can't do that again since a driver can only take that course once every 10 years here in Oregon).
