Hee, from that youtube link a few posts back, I got a blooper/cut scene from Titanic where Kate stuck a handful of ice down Leo's back. So he pretended to throw her overboard. Possibly they were in character, but it was still funny. I'd forgotten how young he looked. Teen idol or what not, he's much more attractive now!

Yeah whenever shes on Inside the Actor's Studio or Oprah and they bring up Titanic she says that Leo kept her sane and would always tell her that she wasnt fat and that she was beautiful, and that to me says a lot.

Plus their interaction now is adorable. She was on the David Letterman talking about him and said that he was "a big girls blouse" about the cold water, and I found the interview you guys were talking about:

Kate Well I think I could say chaotic, we're always on the run going somewhere. And I am kinda of well, apprehensive I guess and severe just when needed. I also try to give my children moral values, and I hope I can do good with them. I try to teach them what is important in life, being genorous with your time,your friends,the ones you love. I try to cultivate their gentler,spiritual,kinder side.But sometimes it's not easy when uncle leo comes along (she laughs)

MC What do you mean?

Kate Well me and Leo (DiCaprio) are very good friends. He adores my children but the problem is he spoils them rotten. I mean Mia is 4 years old and she's a megalomaniac. She says she wants to be an actress,singer and god knows what else.And if you ask her why she thinks she can do all that she's gonna tell you "Uncle Leo says I can" and that's it for her. Can you imagine taking a 3 year old kid to Fao Schwartz and tell her "Take everything you want and uncle Leo is gonna buy you that?" Well Leo did exactly this last Christmas, Mia was overjoyed. She tought Leo was Santa Claus.You know I try to teach her material things are not important and there comes uncle Leo with the newest model of a doll's house (she laughs)

MC:I know how it feels I say, me and my husband we havew a friend that's just like that

Kate Yeah, I guess in a while I'll be the monster and they'll dump me and go live with Uncle Leo

Ok I'm kidding"she says after a while "I really love Leo, I mean we're on the phone constantly when we're in different places. I love the fact that leo loves my children so much, I just wish he'd not spoil them so much" She laughs again

They'll probably both be nominated again this year, so we'll get more "awww"ness.

"Awww" for him telling her she was beautiful and NOT fat. That's one of the things that irritated the hell out of me when "Titanic" came out -- people picking on her weight. She was, and is, gorgeous.

Topic: That is adorable about Leo and her kids. Seriously, though, telling a kid, "Pick out anything you want"? That's just asking for trouble!

Leo on GQ cover

I love him so much. I think he's really grown to be a magnificent actor. Saw The Departed this weekend and he was just phenomenal.

Wow! He looks ... like a grown-up! And so cute! His grin is adorable. Crap, hope I'm not turning into a fangirl. His hair in that photo is much better than the floppy look he sported for so many years. However, for someone on the cover of GQ, he's a bit (read: a lot) disheveled. I said it once and I'll say it again: I will buy you an iron, Leo. I will even teach you to use said iron if you will stop leaving the house looking like you found some clothes crumpled at the bottom of your hamper, did a sniff test and said, "Meh, what the hell? I'll just wear this."

On a non-shallow note, I'm eager to see "Blood Diamond." It looks interesting, and I'm keen to see how he handles the role. I know a lot of people think he's overrated, but I do think he's one of the best actors of our generation.

It's interesting how Leo tells Kate that she's not fat and beautiful, etc. but he only ever dates supermodels significantly younger than himself!

But I love the Leo + Mia story.

I think Kate had a serious crush on Leo while they were filming. If you read the interviews she gave just after they filmed, she gushes about Leo. I think Leo probably meant it like, "Sure you're cute - in a sister/best gal friend kind of way" but would really only date the supermodels. He should try dating a regularish gal.

He looks really good on the cover. It is the first time I've seen him look good in his post-Titanic days. He's being more image conscious this year b/c of his Oscar buzz, I think.
