Yeah, I'm sure if Toby Maguire is getting "hints" dropped at him by Leo it's not of the "I really want to settle down" variety.

To be fair to Leo, I'm pretty sure he's not saying that at all and it's being imputed to him by "sources." One interesting tidbit I learnt recently was that Taylor Swift cleared the Leo reference in her song "The Man" with him - so he clearly has no issue being referred to as a player. (The line is "Let the players play. I'd be just like Leo in Saint-Tropez.")

Just like the jokes about his player lifestyle started getting to George Clooney, I think the jokes about Leo's string of young girlfriends are getting to him. Hence the 'she might be the one!' stories. If Leo meets a UN lawyer eager to be on a Vogue cover, all bets are off.

Officially Dating Gigi HadidMy emphasis is in bold. Sorry, but dating a woman 2 years older than his typical cut-off age while he's TWENTY YEARS OLDER is actually exactly the "playboy lifestyle", yo. The only thing that makes this different is Gigi is a young single mother. People are really obsessed with the idea that playboys should settle down. It's kind of bizarre.

I also find it fascinating how obsessed people become with the women who are able to "land" these men. People slavered over Caroline B. Kennedy, Annette B., and Amal because they "won" John Jr., Warren B., and George. They are held up as the epitome of grace, intelligence and beauty because they were chosen by these men. Topic: Leonardo makes my ovaries shrug. I rarely feel so...neutral about men.

Topic: Leonardo makes my ovaries shrug. I rarely feel so...neutral about men. Same. 👍🏻 I also agree with what you said about the women who get "chosen" by those men.

I mean, those all were really eligible and desirable men who a lot of women wanted to marry. Warren and George in particular seemed like lifetime bachelors, and then they suddenly went gaga over a particular woman and turned overnight into family men. It's intriguing how that happens, and why one woman comes along who is the catalyst for a complete change of lifestyle. It just doesn't happen to that degree when it's a rich/famous/successful woman's eligibility at issue.

In a time where a woman's sole aim in life was to land a man, these woman are seen as the Olympians of man-landing. But now that we're in a period where more and more woman are calling bullshit on the institution of marriage, this attitude sticks out so much more.

If anything the famous and successful woman is painted as "tragic"if she remains single. Leonardo does differ from the others in some ways. I could never imagine him without a model girlfriend and the yachts. It's part of his identity. Even if her does "settle down" I doubt his lifestyle will ever change.

My issue with Leo is not that he "needs to settle down"; it's the perpetual dating of women he is old enough to be their father reeks of an arrested development or that he sees women as only arm candy. I don't think he would be with a woman who would challenge him/has a child/has a career, which is why his relationship with Gigi Hadid is so odd.
Also, his constant yachting while preaching environmentalism pisses me off that he doesn't get more media hate for his hypocrisy, save the actually funny joke Amy Schumer made about him at this year's Oscars.
