Well, I am wildly confused, but I was distracted during the first 30 minutes by a phone call. Luckily I recorded it, so I can rewatch to figure out what the hell was going on.
Because of the phone call, I didn't understand the significance of the ending, but I liked the intensity.

I'm intrigued, but didn't Anthony Michael Hall already do this? Didn't Scott Bakula already do this? I was thinking the same thing as he fixed the things that changed the future. However, why's his girlfriend there? What the heck is going on? I had trouble following at first but liked the end.

Time travel shows make me think way too much. If his actions made the couple have the kid instead of having an abortion, then that would have huge ramifications way beyond the whole "the kid was born so that he could save 6 other kids from a flaming bus".
I mean, having the kid made them stay together, which means anyone she might have ended up with didn't happen. Thus, that person probably ended up with someone else and maybe they had a kid who became a murderer. Or they bought a house in a family-friendly neighbourhood because they had a kid now, therefore they didn't buy that downtown condo after all and weren't around to save their choking condo neighbour, who would have gone to work and invented the cure for cancer if she hadn't died. Or the kid ends up growing up and marrying some girl, which means she didn't marry the person she was originally intended for and so she didn't have the kid who grew up to do.....
Does that make sense? Changing the past to ensure a certain person was born so they could do one heroic act is great, but it negates the thousands of little acts that influence thousands of other lives along the way. I know I'm overthinking it, but it's for this reason that I hope no one EVER invents time travel for real. (My husband thinks I'm nuts to even be concerned about this, since it's impossible.)

spoiler >>> He thought his girlfriend died in a plane crash, but she didn't . He never knew this until he started to "journey" himself. ( He saw her in the hallway ) She "journey"ed out of the plane and lives in all dimensions as a time traveler. <<< end
I think the concept is pretty cool.

I got all of that, but it didn't make any sense that the two of them were "chosen" to do this time travel fix it up stuff. A lot of it didn't make sense. I liked the end when he dug up the toolbox though. That was pretty cool when his wife started believing him. ETA: I also thought that it was SO sad when he was back in his apartment and his fiance showed up and he was SO in love with her. You could see in his face how he felt and how hard it was to be there with her.

I watched this and tried my best to get into it, but after Prison Break and Heroes, there was only so much I could care. I was exhausted. I should have watched ballet or something instead.
I really liked that he cared about his wife and wanted to save his marriage. I was worried he'd want to go back to his girlfriend, because she was his "true love" or something. I'm glad they didn't go down that road.

Maybe that was my problem. I tried watching this but just couldn't get into it. I was bummed to, because the commercials intrigued me.

This episode really pissed me off. "It was all about Gaines' son." Hey, what about the wife, dipshit?! Thanks to your interference, she had a kid she wasn't sure she wanted, probably lost her new job (this being 1987), had a miserable marriage with a guy who threatened to kill her -- all that for a goddamn tracheotomy?! What about her dreams, her destiny, her original plan for her life which was all deferred so she could be the Blessed Incubator for the School Bus Savior.
This show is seriously on probation with me. Grrrrrrr.

Mugsy, I have exactly the same problem with time travel, so a show has to be really good to get me to suspend my disbelief. This one was okay, but I still can't help feeling like they pitched it as "The Dead Zone, but with a twist! His ex-fiancee is also a time traveler!" I can see how they hoped it would up the dramatic tension, but in this ep at least it just muddied the water.
I did like that they realistically portrayed what would happen if someone with a normal life disappeared for a while to time travel. The intervention was amusing. It's like Medium in that way. But won't all the lack of sleep catch up with him at some point? Or is that one of the mysteries of time travel?
I'll give it another ep or two.
