My problem with the show is that Dr Drew wants to be seen as a serious doctor, yet he's famewhoring himself out any chance he gets. If he wants to be seen a serious doctor running a legit rehab clinic, he should probably not have a patient in rehab who as a history of harassing a tech.

Whoa. So given that fact, I'll take it further and guess that "Driving Erratically" = "Potential post traumatic flashbacks upon realizing what day it was" But I'm sure if alcohol or drugs were involved it would have been mentioned so hopefully all is well on that front. I can't remember what happened with the original Steven Adler/ Jennifer confrontation. It had something to do with either she was trying to keep him in the house, or push him out of the house because he'd broken some rule and she wound up with welts on her legs and called all sorts of lovely names... and he magically got to stay in the house and also is magically back again to make things difficult for this woman some more. There was also an incident with Shelley where Steven was bitching because she was late in giving him eye drops or something and she locked herself in her office to get away from his nasty mouth while he kicked and beat on the door. I'm sure everyone's thrilled to see him again. Dr. Drew grows skeevier and skeevier. The excuses he made surrounding the death of Jeff Conway never sat right and also for some reason he's getting airtime over the Casey Anthony case. What in the world he has to do with that, I don't know. But in the one clip I saw he was acting practically giddy and could not wipe the smile off his face as folks were discussing some of the more lurid details. It's just gross. I stopped thinking of him as legit long ago.

Yeah, the stuff Adler did is the kind of stuff that should get you permanently booted from a rehab facility, not brought back to create drama.
As far as Casey Anthony goes, she is alleging that her father abused her as a child, so you know Dr. Drew is all over that like flies on shit.

There's a whole lot of stuff I don't understand. Remember that Kari Ann Whocares was very combative and still didn't get kicked out for a LONG time. An employee even grabbed her and got fired. Now of course you can't touch a patient, but wasn't she a long time employee (maybe not, but she was older)? How long was that shit going on before Kari Ann got tossed out of there? Something just seemed like it was missing from that whole story. It seemed too convenient that we even got an employee fired for drama. Now of course we're back to abusing them and seeing how much they can take.

Finally got to watch this. So how many times do you think Michael Lohan told his gun story over the years? What a drama queen he is. I'll never feel sorry for him no matter what sob story he comes up with.
I do feel bad for Sean Young. She was practically blacklisted, but was she that bad? The thing with James Woods was pretty much he said/she said. I suspect his allegations were taken as fact because his story fit in with the woman scorned, Fatal Attraction theme that was all the rage at the time. And her Batman antics weren't that over the top, just wacky actress stuff. What am I missing? Was she unprofessional and difficult to work with? Lots of actors who have shown themselves to be less than mentally stable (Tom Cruise for instance) still get work as long as they are capable of doing their jobs. It doesn't seem fair.
Is Steven Adler still married? I can't imagine being married to that thing.

Not sure what I think about Sean Young. She did pretty much admit to being batshit drunken crazy in those days (and you know, that morning). Maybe it'll come out in therapy whether she thinks she really was Glenn Close or got slammed for something small.
I wish Drew would quit with the pouty baby faces when he talks to hot women (or lukewarm women). The lip goes out, and he says he's sorry for their pain. He doesn't do it for men, and he doesn't do it for the plainer women (I don't remember McKenzie Phillips ever getting the lip).

Just saw it (late to the game I know) UGH! Michael Lohan and Amy Fisher can go jump off a bridge. Complete scum, both of 'em. Bai Ling, it was very hard to tell how much of her actions were just for drama- but she may have been genuine. She does come across as someone who;s life is out of control, but who doesn't know another way to live. The saddest part was Bai and Sean sitting and smoking together and talking fondly of their favorite drinks... then Bai saying she'd like to go get a drink now and Sean kinda wistfully agreeing... then both of them realizing that no, they COULDN'T just go get a drink. I watched this episode, but the stunt of having Jennifer and Stephen tossed together again is probably going to keep me away from watching any more. Stephen never should have been allowed near her after the first incident and now they're going in for round two. None of these famewhores will ever get sober if they know that their relapsing and abusive behavior makes for good ratings and will thus be rewarded with a slot on this show.

Yeah, I always put it at about 80-20% on who wants to be there for the money for more drugs and famewhoreness, and who really wants help.
Rodney? I really think he wanted help. Sure, he could have also really needed the cash, but he does seem to have done the right thing. And he was super low key while on the show. And sadly, as much as I liked McKenzie Phillips, she timed that rehab to go along as a companion to her book. But I'm one of those people who thinks that shit should have all stayed private in the family. Now you can never unhear it. And it wasn't like anyone was putting the long dead John Phillips on a pedestal.

Just watched episode two. When Bai Ling is up on the roof, the two attendants are trying to get her down while Dr. Drew is all,"Is she threatening to jump?" "OMG, did she jump?". I totally thought he was hoping she was threatening to jump or that she would jump to increase ratings. And why can the patients still access the roof? Why are ladders left lying around? Anything for ratings, I guess, as demonstrated by "...to be continued..." with Bai still on the roof.

I wish Amy Fisher would take a dive off the roof. Now she's got some revisionist shit going on - she was a CHILD whose life was ruined by the paparazzi. She suddenly turned herself into a 16 year old child (she was actually 17) who made a mistake. Yeah, 17 year olds do dumb stuff, but shooting someone in the head should never be included in that statement. And what's this bs about not being able to find ANY other work besides porn? Why doesn't her husband earn money for the family if she can't do anything other than minimum wage jobs? And did she seriously not train for anything in prison? All she has to do is change her name to Amy Whateverthehusband'snameis, and wear normal clothes and makeup. Bingo, no one cares that much about you anymore. Drew Barrymore has gone WAY past playing her, Amy should be able to blend into society and stop bringing up those old movies like they happened this year.
