What was the story Mike told Walt in Half Measures? I know it had something to do with a domestic dispute. I am guessing that may have led to his dramatic exit from the police force. I can't recall all the details, but Mike said that he was fed up with a guy who was a serial abuser. Mike drove the abusive guy out to the middle of nowhere and did the usual muscle job on him. Mike was just about to kill the guy but decided to give him one last chance. About a week after promising Mike that he would never to lay a hand on anyone again, the abusive man turned around and killed his entire family. Mike blamed himself for those deaths because he didn't kill the guy when he had the chance.

Wasn't Lydia at the table with the Madrigal execs when they were meeting with Hank et al?

Yup. So she's involved with Madrigal in some way, and obviously knew about Gus' operation.

Wasn't Lydia at the table with the Madrigal execs when they were meeting with Hank et al? Ah, good catch! That whizzed right by me. I guess maybe that also undermines what the German guy was saying at the meeting about the whole drug thing being the work of one rogue businessman at Madrigal. (I doubt most of us swallowed that bit of corporate bs anyway, but her presence makes it even less believable!) That's awesome. I thought it seemed a bit off for Walt to be as poor as he made out in the last episode!

That was a good episode! The opening scene with the Madrigal executive was so creepy.
I didn't catch that Lydia was at the meeting with the DEA - was she sitting with the Madrigal peeps or could she be DEA?

I'm happy Mike is getting some nice screentime this year. Here's hoping that keeps up.
Lydia is the most fingernails on blackboard irritating character I have seen on this show. Awful.
No Marie? I want Marie!

Oh, I hate Marie. I'm happy for her to stay off-screen, shoplifting to her heart's content!
ETA: Just finished episode 3. I guess it was kind of a filler episode, setting up the plot of how they are going to cook etc. but it wasn't that thrilling.

No thrills and action but we got a good look at how Walt's megalomania's going to bring him down. Though having him watch "Scarface" was too on-the-nose; the Three Stooges playing when he subtly prodded Jesse to break up with Brock's mom was better. Did you notice the final Stooges shot was of a man pulling a ladder away so that another man fell? Anyway, I think Walt's going to get greedy and try to cut corners to cut down on his overhead, then one of Mike's guys are going to talk to the DEA.

I'm kind of surprised at how they are having Walt deal with Skylar's breakdown. Not in terms of what he told Marie - that made total sense. But more Walt's apparent disregard for the fact that he scares his wife, repulses her, and now she is losing the plot. Is that denial or callousness?
