For years I thought ABBA was singing "You can dance, you can die..." When I was in my teens I realized that didn't make any sense and looked up the lyrics. Jive certainly makes more sense!

I've been singing "We're going down, down in an Indian ground and sugar, we're going down swingin'" all this time and the dude from American Idol says it's "We're going down, down in an earlier round and sugar, we're going down swingin'. Thanks, Andrew Garcia!

This is a horrible 'mis-hear' and I have to wonder whats wrongs with me. My daughter has a Backyardigans boombox that plays a soccer song. The actual lyrics are along the lines of, "I am a soccer monster, I love...(the?) soccer balls" but all I hear is, "I am a sucker monster, I love...to suck your balls." Yeah, I know...
There's also a waterpark commercial that plays here that has a jingle which actually says, "Lots of fun in the sun!", but to which I always hear,"Knocked-up fun in the sun!"

When Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" was out in the 80s, I thought she was singing Love to Slap Anita. And I knew the name of the song too...I don't know what my problem was.

Ah yes, Madonna's ode to delicious baked goods. "Last night I dreamed of some bagels ..."

Has anyone heard Lisa Hannigan's song "Lille"? I'm pretty convinced it's about her breakup with Damien Rice. But anyway there is a lyric that goes "what I read in the charms". Except when I first heard the song I thought she sang "what I read in the john". Needless to say, the actual lyric is much better!

I have to admit, I thought that "I'm a Horny Ninja" was a kick-ass choice for a car commercial, which I had always supposed to be very conservative. Obviously, I was wrong. Except not.

I always heard Mr. Mister's "Kyrie Eleison" as "carry a laser." I got a Star Wars vibe off of it, and it did kind of make sense in context.
