I love this thread! My taste in music is also rather embarassing.
I love:
early Mariah Meatloaf Spice Girls Eden's Crush (that lousy Popstars band) Amy Grant (her non-Christian stuff like Baby Baby) Gin Blossoms Matchbox 20
I blame it on the fact that my taste is frozen from my high school days in the mid-90s.

I love early Mariah too. I caught myself one late, late night downloading a hell of a lot of Miriah songs from the early to mid 1990's off Kazza and had to admit to myself that I had a problem and should face my Mariah love straight on and stop the cycle shame and denial.

Okay, a random bit of radio airplay this morning reminded me that Neil Diamond's Solitary Man is on my list of "dang, I shouldn't like that one, but somehow I do" songs. That wonderfully cheesy, soaring chorus! The too-serious geekitude! Cornball. Timeless.
Neil Diamond, baby. Neil Frickin' Diamond.

I stated this before. I am nowhere near the demo for Duran Duran ,then and now, but I like their songs.

Stardancer, I share your pain. That song is on my Top 25 Most Played list on my iPod. There's this one part in the song where it gets really quiet and Bolton's voice gets all techno-y, then all the music comes back really loud, it's so sweet. I like to call it a Black Hole Explosion of Michael Bolton Bliss. I have no shame.
OH MY GOD ME TOO!! I thought I outgrew them, but I heard some of the previews from the new album, and I'm a gonner again.
Also, a heathly love for the Spice Girls never goes out of style. They were AWESOME.

I never ever got sick of Steal My Sunshine from Len - even when I heard it 40 times a day on the radio...

Dammit......I'll just go ahead and say it....I LOVE the song Come Clean by Hillary Duff. I don't know what it is, but it is just such a good song. Whenever the video comes on MTV Hits, I stop what i'm doing, sit down, and sing along until it's over. *sigh*If I have to have my shiny Crown Princess membership tiara taken away due to this confession, I understand!

Glad to know I'm not as strange as I thought! Here are my guilty pleasures:
Britney Spears - "I Love Rock and Roll". And yes, I prefer this to the original.
Fiddy - I am his bitch. I swear, I will buy anything he puts out.
I also have this recurring fantasy in which I walk into some fabulous place in a gorgeous dress on the arm of a dashing older gentleman and Tom Jones "She's a Lady" plays in the background. This song just plays into my whole "fetish" (my friends' word) for older men.

Look, if there is room on here for someone published in "Chicken Soup for the Soul", there's room for me, dammit.
