The last concert I went to was CSNY back in 2001. [/tiptoes quietly from thread]
PS--The t-shirt was $40, and I still wear the tye-died monstrosity with hippie pride!

I'm kind of embarassed to ask, but have any of ya'll seen Kelly Clarkson live? I'll cop to it, I like her music, and she's coming here in a month or so (and tix are only $45!). I was wondering if she was worth seeing. Thanks for the help.

Can anyone who's seen the Killers recently let me know how they were? I am going to see them on Thursday and am wondering what sort of show they put on. I heard the Lollapalooza gig was only so-so...any feedback?

I thought The Killers sounded pretty good at Lollapalooza, but I'd never heard them live before and I'm not a big psycho fan or anything. They're no Billy Idol.

Well, the Austin concert kicked all kinds of ass. It was outdoors in this place called Stubb's BBQ. It's like a rustic barbecue restaurant with a gravel outdoor area where the stage is. The temperature was 98 degrees yesterday so everyone was drenched with sweat jumping up and down to the music. I thought they put on an amazing show. I'm not a psycho fan either, but they rocked my world so hard...I may have to consider becoming one! The one really cool thing was that everyone there (or everyone standing around me, at least) seemed to know the words to every. single. song. I had never heard so much singing along at a show, ever.
Is anyone on here going to Austin City Limits Festival in September?

Just saw Rick Springfield last night. Best $6 concert I've ever been to. He still looks DAMN good for 56 years old. He was one of my first crushes as a kid. *sigh* I'd still hit that 56-year old ass.

I went to teh Green Day show last night, and it was probably the best concert I've been to. It didn't hurt that it was the hometown show. I didn't care for Flogging Molly (this is the sick part: I actually went inside and watched the end of the baseball game during their set), but both Jimmy Eat World and Green Day rocked. The most surreal thing was 40,000 people singing along to YMCA during one of the intermissions. The fireworks show over the bay at the end didn't hurt things either.

Since we're sharing, I saw Beck last night. Mind you I'm not a huge Beck fan, but his faster, louder songs kicked ass. However, he played a bunch of slower, quieter songs in the middle of the show, which allowed me to slow down and realize the cigarette smoke being blown into my face by all the 19-year-olds was making me sick and I had to leave. I was sort of disappointed in the opener, who was the weird "one man band" guy, and the fact that it still took them 45 freakin' minutes to turn the stage despite the fact that all of Beck's stuff was already there and the opener had no equipment.
I'm really mad JEW and Green Day didn't play anywhere near me.
