I just got back from the Franz Ferdinand/Death Cab for Cutie concert at my school. Wow, Franz was absolutely phenomenal. They had such great energy and put on an awesome show, even better than I expected. We were also center and damn close to the stage, so it made it that much more fun. Death Cab was alright, but so boring. I have to say I'm biased though, because I'm not a huge fan of their music except maybe for relaxing/sleeping. They had a bunch of stage decorations and I felt like it was to make up for their lack of showmanship. It's not that they were bad live, it's just that it was exactly as I pictured it would be, and their music, IMO, is too dull to close a show. Which is why I was a tiny bit bummed they closed instead of Franz Ferdinand. Plus, people would have been more interested in their show if they played first, and then Franz could have livened things up and got everybody's attention. Oh well, all in all, it was a totally excellent concert, if only for Franz alone. I even bought an overpriced T-shirt. Well, it was 20 bucks, so it wasn't bad. So glad I went.

Lucky. I don't like Death Cab but I love Franz Ferdinand so I would have loved to see them.
I just bought tickets for Madonna, and they were expensive and kind of far from the stage. Say what you want - I like her new album. It's in the week between my graduation and when I leave for vacation so that should be fun.

I saw Hawksley Workman on Saturday, and dear God, is he amazing. And funny. With a sexy voice! And adorable hobbit-ness!
I believe he's touring Canada at the moment, so even if you've never heard of him, you should go to his show. Because he is excellent.
I love my camera. I was able to record most of the show - well, 8 or 9 songs anyway. Stealth! Sure, it's probably frowned upon by the artists whose shows I record this way, but it's not like I'm selling it or anything.. It's a better souvenir than a t-shirt, dude.

Her shows are amazing and I'm looking forward to her performing the new songs!

^^ I saw Madonna a thousand years ago -- I think it was her Like a Virgin tour. I'd definitely go see her again and I'm hoping she comes here on her tour. I don't everything about her but still, it's Madonna!
I saw Elvis Costello last week. He had the symphony playing with him and it was a laid back, Sinatra-y type concert instead of his usual kick ass shows. I really liked it, he's one of my all time faves and his voice just improves with age. I do prefer his more rock and roll shows, but I like it that he tries different things.

Ben Folds is one of the most amazing live acts. It's an incredibly interactive experience for the audience. I've seen him 3 times. He's...ugh so (in honor of Suri) AMAZING.
Key tracks? - Zak and Sara - Army - The Luckiest - Still Fighting It - Late - and he does a kickin' cover of the Cures "Inbetween Days"

Last year I had awful luck with concerts. I finally convinced someone to go see Kelly Clarkson's Summer show with me, we got great seats and the weekend it was supposed to happen the show was canceled for one of the Tropical Storms, maybe Cindy? We got no storm, nothing. So they go and reschedule for October.
In the mean time I found out Rob Zombie was going to be at the House of Blues. I love me some RZ, scored tickets and was super excited. The concert was on a Monday. The Sunday before it I was driving up north, evacuating from bloody Hurricane Katrina. They never did reschedule it, and the October Kelly Clarkson show was canceled due to damage done to the arena.
I think I'm a concert jinx.

Radiohead is coming to LA at the end of June. I really want to go. Except - I don't know anyone back home who'd want to go. I'm going to ask one of my friends who is most likely to like them and want to go, otherwise, I guess I'll pass. I sort of don't want to go by myself. That's weird, right? Also, they'll be playing mostly new stuff. I'm sure it will be good though, after all, it's Radiohead!

Oh, man, don't you ever think of passing on that! (This is coming from someone who flew all the way across the continent to see Radiohead at Coachella 2004, of course.)
