The guy that 'created' Milli Vanilli put together Boney M. Similar type of thing- the performers were not the original singers, but then over the years I think new members took over for the originals who could sing. Doesn't make me enjoy their music any less and they were fun to watch on Top of the Pops. It's entertainment, not heart surgery!

I like Selena Gomez's Bad Liar, and that Slow Hands song by that One Direction Niall kid. I think Niall's (not going to bother to confirm spelling of last name) song's an interesting choice for a boy band alum. Instead of slick, polished pop, it's a bluesy, acoustic-ish piece. The "Strip That Down" song by his former colleague Liam (again, not going to look up his full name) sounds really dated to me. It has the same tired "We met in the club and will hook up after dancing sexily together" theme as countless other songs. I don't think he actually says "poppin' bottles" or "drop it like it's hot," but he may as well have.

I'm double posting, but it's been over a year since the last one, so I hope it's OK.
I really dislike the Dan + Shay song "Tequila." The first verse is full of off-meter slant rhymes as the narrator awkwardly recites all of the kinds of alcohol he can guzzle while keeping his wits about him. It comes off like he's trying to humble brag about his tolerance but instead reveals an underlying drinking problem. The rest of the song is less objectionable musically, but that first verse really sets the tone from a storytelling perspective. She left because you drink too much.

What drives me crazy is the "dancing in a sorority t-shirt" line. It immediately turns me off. First, the word "sorority" doesn't belong in a song. Second, it makes me think of the singer as a Frat Bro, and no. I'm not interested in your drunken hook-up story, dude. The idea of the song, a drink triggering a happy/sad memory of a romance, is something that's relatable, but I automatically think of jerky greek kids that I encounter all day and I don't want to listen anymore.

Another unpopular opinion:
I like some of Cardi B's songs.

Mine:
I think it’s really kind of sweet that Billy Ray Cyrus is back on the top of the charts, with Lil Nas. He seems like a nice enough man, and he put his money where his mouth is on issues for the environment with Indigenous activist groups. I just like him, the big lug.

I think it's creepy when Ellie Goulding sings sexual songs like "Close to Me" or the "50 Shades of Grey" theme because her voice sounds very childlike.
I looked in the past few pages of this thread and I've made quite a number of posts. Apparently, I have a lot of unpopular opinions to get off my chest.

Wouldn't want you to feel lonely or anything, boxofrocks . What can I say - I'm a giver. Agnetha Faltskog (the blonde from Abba) had a better singing voice than Anafrid Lyngstad.
