I know. It took me FOREVER to find out who sang it. I even e-mailed an 80s station and wrote down some of the lyrics. I received a less than satisfactory response. I realized that the girl who responded from me came from my hometown. I also realized that, due to her age, she probably hadn't come out of her mother's' womb yet.

Ha! I special-ordered that cd for myself when I worked in a record store. My coworkers had a divided reaction between disdain and awe. Mmm...KonKan

14 pages of posts and not one mention of Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise? For shame. Michelle Pfeiffer owes him big time for boosting that shitty movie with that song.
I love 90s music. I think an earlier poster had it right -- we tend to like the music that we enjoyed in our teenage years the most. To this day, I still listen to more 90s music than current songs. Alas, my Big Three are embarassing -- Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, and Celine Dion. I'll hide now.

Isn't the Kon Kan song called "I Beg Your Pardon"? At any rate, it is FABULOUS to work out to.
ETA--I just thought I'd remind you of a song I TOTALLY forgot:
"P-A-S-S-I-O-N Got me in a jam again There's no way that I can win P-A-S-S-I-O-N"

Now I've got that song in my head. Dammit, I'll have to think of a Color Me Badd song to counteract.

It introduced the phrase "get medieval on your hiney" into my vocabulary.

Hey, anyone else remember the "We are the World" for the 90s? Give Peace a Chance as organized by Sean Lennon. Sebastian Bach cares about peace, y'all!
