Lisa Miller, thank you for reminding me about Wonderful. I loved that song and listening to it just now brought a wave of memories crashing over me. Now I wonder what other songs I've loved and forgotten.

I was all about the ladies--from the divas like Mariah, Whitney, and Celine (I still love My Heart Will Go On) to the singer-songwriters like Alanis, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, etc. Aww, I miss Lilith Fair. Basically, Felicity Porter and I shared the same taste in music.
When it came to bands, I enjoyed Green Day, Barenaked Ladies, The Tragically Hip, Semisonic, Oasis, Weezer, and REM.

Lately, I've had the urge to listen not so much to good 90s stuff, but bad 90s. Like early Nirvana, Gin Blossoms, and Ace of Base. Ace of Base, people! What is wrong with me?!

But did you see the sign? And did it open up your eyes?

I'm pretty sure Ace of Base was the first CD I ever bought on my own with my allowance. How depressing.
VH1 is having a 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s countdown slash marathon going on right now and lasting through the day.
Oy, less talking heads/Best Week Ever style snark and just play the video. As much fun as it is to learn that Snow's "Informer" is actually about his jail time served for an attempted murder charge.

I watched some of that too. I was shocked at how much Bryan Abrams from Color Me Badd has blown up over the years. I mean, I know I shouldn't snark, he's probably a nice guy, but wow. That's some girth.
I put on an Alice in Chains CD last night and I couldn't even get through the whole thing. I used to love that stuff when I was a teen, now I just think it's so whiny.

Somehow I was sucked back into my old Ani DiFranco CDs again this week. I really thought I was "over" all of that. Now I just have to keep my brain from drifting back into its Dar Williams habit and all will be well.

"and just like Jodie Watley, baby girl, I can have you..."
Thanks for the memory. <Off to add Paperboy and Jodie Watley to my playlist>
