I heard that, too; I think they're doing a concert at a venue around here some place.
My latest bout of '90s nostalgia continues to kick my ass; I just bought Joan Osbourne's first album, which I'd never actually listened to all the way through. Not bad. I'm not surprised that "One of Us" was the most well-known song off the disc, though. Next up: Repurchase of Filter's Short Bus. That'll be a memory trip.

I picked up the James CD "Laid" at the Goodwill store over the weekend. They're known as one-hit-wonders for the title song, but I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by the rest of the album. I dunno, it's pretty low-fi. Maybe they were kind of ahead of their time or something. The CD came out in '93 but their other songs reminded me of the college and coffeehouse-style rock of the bands that played at my school around 96-97-ish.
I also found the My So-Called Life soundtrack from '94.

I was at my local grocery store and I song I remembered from the 1990s played on the PA. It was by a female singer and I couldn't remember her name nor the song, but it was pretty familiar. So I went home and did a search for a list of 1990s One Hit Wonders and I found the song: "Mouth" by Merril Bainbridge.

I have a sick love for "Mouth" (and Merril). Don't judge me.

satellite, James was a one-hit wonder (unfortunately) in the US, but they were quite big in the UK. One of my college roommates did her junior year abroad in England and heard them a lot there.
This morning, I've got various songs from Faith No More's Angel Dust album running through my head. That's an album that I pull out a few times a year and always always love. It's just a really good, solid rock album that I think stands the test of time.

Good to hear that biondetta. I'm surprised that they didn't become bigger here going by the overall quality of the album.

Soundgarden are reforming, so I guess this means than Audioslave are no more *feigns sadness*
What with the Salt-N-Pepa reunion, I can relive my formative, decadent mid-teens again. I'm very much over the emo/indie-Brooklyn/pop-punk/Casio-inflected/super-group heavy Aughts. 90s nostalgia is great! Time to crack out the My So-Called Life DVDs. I hope to see many more now defunct groups come back and sell out! Will Slash and Axl make up? Will DJ Jazzy Jeff reunite with The Fresh Prince? I am crackling with anticipation!
