Diana is on the cover of People magazine this week. The cover story heralds "shocking new evidence" about her death. Does anyone know what this is about?

Hmm, there was nothing on people.com and theroyalforums.com don't seem to be talking about it. I bet it more conspiracy theories.

Cuz I'm a sucker for Diana, I bought it. THe gist of the story is that all these years after the accident, the case still hasn't been closed and that's because there are so many odd things about the case (although by themselves, none seem to lead to anything). Some were things I didn't know, like Henri Paul, the chauffer, besides being drunk, worked for the French intelligence agency. And though he made $35K/year, he had several bank accounts with more than $160,000 in them when he died. And, as al Fayed claimed, there was some kind of mix-up with his blood work after his death, but they wouldn't say what it is.
There is also the case of the white Fiat, whose paint was found on her car at the accident. They linked it back to a pavarotti (TM K-Fed) who was later found dead in a charred car.
I miss Diana too. I think she was a bit of a nutcase, but she had charisma that many more beautiful women lack. And, despite her rank and position in life, she was had a very nice down-to-earth quality. Compare her to the immodoest likes of J-Ho, Britney and Paris Hilton, et all, makes me miss her more.

You're absolutely right, with the likes of Paris, Sienna and them walking about, the Princess is definitely missed.

Did any one ever see the special that the Discovery Channel did where they re-enacted the car crash and examined it from a scientific POV? It was very interesting and I was unfortunately running out the door the day that it aired. They investigated the fact that there was white paint on Diana's Mercedes and the fact that the driver never came forward. When they did the re-enactment, they had a driver in a small white car nick a speeding large black car. The small ding sent the car veering off course and the driver of the white car said he did not feel any impact at all.
I think Diana’s death is a matter of Occam’s Razor. She got into a car with an intoxicated driver and was killed as a result.
ETA: That too Karrit. I forgot about the no seatbelt.

And she didn't wear her seat belt. I bet she could have walked away if she had had worn it. The one person in that Mercedes who used his seat belt is still alive.

Karrit, I noticed you're in London. I've been to Europe but never the UK. When I go--because I am such a nerd--I want to go to Colherne Court and see the flat Diana lived in before she met Charles. Has anyone seen it? Is it accessible?

MagazineWhore-
I have not thought to go there, but I looked it up on the A-Z map, and it looks like you could walk by it.
When you do make it over here, try to come in the summer when Althorp is open. Her wedding dress is there (which I never really liked until I saw it...it is gloriously over the top) and lots of her clothes. I thoroughly enjoyed Althorp, though I think you have to be a big fan (as I am) to make it worth the trip up to Northamptonshire.

Oh, I am that much of a fan. I would love to see Althorp. Thanks for the info. I guess because I was 11 in 1981, so my introduction to London was in large part due to my fascination with Princess Diana. Yes, I'm a total nerd.

If you want to go to Althorp, you'd need to buy tickets well in advance (I think Althorp is only open for one month in the summer). But from what I understand, if you're a Diana fan, it's well worth the effort.
