And how weird to be told you’re not George/Charlotte/Louis Cambridge now, you’re George/Charlotte/Louis Wales!

If I've got it right, William retains the Duchy of Cambridge, and inherits the Duchy of Cornwall. So his children can carry on being Cambridge. Also, he's not officially Prince of Wales until the King grants him that title. Dunno when that will be. As far as tomorrow's vigil, I predict that Edward's children won't be out of the spotlight much longer. Louise is an exquisite English rose, and James has the brooding, RPatz thing going on. I know it's irreverent, but a lot of screengrabs of them are going to be shared tomorrow.

He is officially POW right now. Charles already made him so. The investiture ceremony is like a wedding reception rather than a wedding - a celebration of something that was already made official.

Diana's black sheep sweater sold for over $1million. This one was returned to the designers because of a rip in the cuff; they sent a new sweater to the Palace and found this one years later. So I guess the designers get the money from the sale? I visited London in the early 1980's and saw a stall full of the sheep jumper in multiple colors at Covent Garden. At the time they seemed very expensive but I've always wished I splurged on one. They are still available but at $250, still something of a luxury item.

I have always adored that sweater because it reminds me of one of my favorite records from my teen years, "Out of Step" by Minor Threat. (Which came after the sweater, but I'm willing to bet was not inspired by it.)

I always loved that sweater. Would be nice if some of the money went to charity.

Diana's brother Charles (more formally, the 9th Earl Spencer) has written another book, this one about the posh boarding school he attended. Scott Simon interviewed him this morning on NPR.It sounds like an absolute horrorshow, with every revolting thing you've ever heard about the British public school system. The school itself is a far different institution these days, thank God, and isn't denying any of the book.
