Seriously, if Diana’s “energy” is lingering in this plane of existence, it’s with her kids, grandkids and loved ones, not an actress hustling for an Oscar. I’m so over this movie and I have no desire to see it.

I think Diana’s hair looked best in those Mario Testino pics, in the 90s. I think she looked so chic.
I saw today that KStew called Diana a “rad” historical figure impressed some such, which I’m assuming the above link refers to. I CANNOT. I’m not a Diana Stan or anything, but why do we need a fantastical movie made starring this dimwitted fool who can’t act her way out of a paper bag. WHO ASKED FOR THIS?

an actress hustling for an Oscar. She's gonna hurt herself if she tries any harder.

I am, to put it mildly, not a KS fan, and this solidifies my "she's the worst" stance.

Jemima Kahn quit The Crown: Netflix's response: Not knowing what this was about, I was thoroughly confused when I was reading Jemima's statement about being a co-writer and wondering why on earth she would be hired as a co-writer. This looks like it's less about Diana's portrayal and more about a dispute about Jemima's career and not being granted a writing credit.

So apparently Dr Hasnat Khan is going to be played by Humayun Saeed, and not Fawad Khan who was a strong contender. As someone from that country I’m disappointed by that news. Humayun Saeed for me for me and a few others is the PK equivalent of say Tom Cruise, been around for yonks, inexplicably successful despite most people one meets not being able to see the appeal in terms of talent or charisma, but powerful enough in the local industry to be the producer and cast himself as the hero against much younger heroines. He also has a self conscious style where he is always Humayun Saeed just like Tom Cruise is always Tom Cruise. I would have loved to see Adnan Siddiqui or Fawad Khan get the exposure and represent us; much more attractive, in a more thinking woman’s appeal way, and far more natural onscreen. Of course no one would have been more perfect than the late great (Indian) Irfan Khan, who also looked a bit like Dr Hasnat. I do hope the writing and acting portrayal does him justice; from everything I’ve read he seems to be the not just the only man in Diana’s life who wasn’t a cad to her (I don’t count Charles in that to be clear, they were both fairly bad spouses to each other), and the only one of her romances not to have sold her story out posthumously despite apparently a number of inducements. He also seems like a really good guy otherwise, selfless in his professional work. He probably made the right judgement call that a life with Diana in Pakistan would not have worked long term, and I was sorry to read that his own love life fared no better. I’ve always found their romance clean and touching in an otherwise somewhat sordid cast of characters (such as the icky Dodi or Hewitt), and I do hope they do a nice job of portraying that. I wonder if Jemima and Imran Khan will be portrayed as supporting characters in S5 since they were v much on the scene during her trips to Pakistan with Hasnat. All in all I’m looking forward to the new season coming out despite this particular casting disappointment. I think Elizabeth Debicki is a great choice for Diana at that next age.
