Well since someone mentioned Mandy Moore, I'll go ahead and say that I think that her whole album- Coverage is an underrated album. I think it's very good as a whole. But I like her coverage of- Mona Lisa's and Madhatters, Anticipation and Moonshadow. I don't think they're necessarily better thant the originals, but they're still good.

Nice! The original is SO dull and blah, and Martika's version really gets you pumped! It was just what I needed in 8th grade...and any time!
Also....off the top of my head. Eva Cassidy's "Fields of Gold" is the only version I can stand; The Living End's "Tainted Love" gets me GOING.

I really like Lindsay Lohan's cover of Stevie Nicks' "Edge of Seventeen." I like how it has an orchestral feel to it. I like that cover, too! I also like Guns n' Roses' cover of "Sympathy for the Devil."

I much prefer Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt." Love his version. I went out and bought the album. It's a lonely little country album amongst all my rock albums, but it's really well done. One of my favorites.

Nada Surf covering OMD's "If You Leave" is one of my favorite covers of all time...I think it was on the OC...hmph.
Also, as a huge Jenny Lewis fan, I think her cover of the Traveling Wilbury's "Handle Me With Care" with Conor Oberst and Ben Gibbard is phenomenal.
I'm also in the minority to like most Postal Service covers more than the originals.

On the way home tonight, I heard a hard rock cover of Genesis's "Land of Confusion," and I thought it was pretty good. Of course, I had the puppet video running through my head the whole time.

I usually cry from frustration when one of my favorite songs is covered, but I really loved "Hounds of Love" as done by the Futureheads. And Ben Folds' "Inbetween Days" is the only Cure cover that hasn't made me throw things and curse.

I really like Courtney Love's version of Gold Dust Woman and Marilyn Manson's version of Tainted Love.
Other than the god-awful Last Kiss or whatever song that was they covered, I love Pearl Jam's cover song choices. Baba O'Reilly is one of my favorites.

Ben lives in my neighborhood so I feel like I should give him a shoutout now and then. (And I still haven't seen him around even though everyone else and their dog has. Ben, why are you avoiding me?) I did remember that there's one other Cure cover I like and that is Charlotte Martin's "Just Like Heaven" even if she did change all the pronouns.
