Christina Aguilera - HURT. I associate it with my dad, for some reason - and he passed away this summer. Sigh, breaks my heart.

There's a difference between outright "sad" and "melancholy," though. I mean, I'd never qualify "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" as sad, per se, but it has that melancholy feel to it, and I sob like a baby when I hear it. Hm. Does "The Long and Winding Road" by the Beatles count as sad, or just melancholy? I cry at that, too. Damn Sir Paul for catching me off guard at the concert; I think I embarrassed my mommy! Other Sad Songs: - Hallelujah: most versions, but k.d. lang's is STUNNING
- Invisible Ink - Aimee Mann
- Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers
- 2000 Miles - The Pretenders
- Tomorrow Never Comes - Morrissey
- Lost Decade - The Devils

For me there's always a bit of sadness or melancholy to many Travis songs but the one that for some reason always gets to me is Re-Offender.

"And So It Goes" by Billy Joel is probably my #1 sad song.

One that always slays me is "All I Know" by Art Garfunkel.
I bruise you, you bruise me We both bruise too easily Too easily to let it show I love you, and that's all I know
All my plans have fallen through All my plans depend on you Depend on you to help them grow I love you, and that's all I know
When the singer's gone Let the song go on...
But the ending always comes at last Endings always come too fast They come too fast, but they pass too slow I love you, and that's all I know
When the singer's gone Let the song go on It's a fine line between the darkness and the dawn They say the darkest night There's a light beyond
But the ending always comes at last Endings always come too fast They come too fast, but they pass too slow I love you, and that's all I know That's all I know That's all I know
Nip/Tuck fans know what I'm talking about.

Some I agree with some I don't. A lot I would include are not even on there but I can live with it since Johnny Cash's version of Hurt is in the top three. I would have had Billie Holiday's Solitude in the top as well. Both songs can bring me to my knees and I am in no way a crier.
