"Send in the Clowns"- Barbra's version "And So It Goes"- Billy Joel "Selfless, Cold, and Composed"- Ben Folds Five "Your Song"- Ray Charles "That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be"- Carly Simon "Sometimes Love Ain't Enough" Patty Smyth and Don Henley "Separate Lives"- Phil Collins version is great, but I think that Stephen Bishop's (the song's writer) is even sadder "Fragile"- Sting "The Rainbow Connection"- Kermit the Frog
And the Mother of all sad songs- "Whose Sorry Now" by Barbra and Barry Gibb. I might have posted that before, but it bears repeating.

Adding another one to the sad Radiohead song collection: Street Spirit (Fade Out). Agreed. I cried my eyes out to that one many, many times. I also nominate Let Down. One of the saddest songs EVER is Julia by the Beatles. Instant goosebumps. In My Life, also. Must go sob, now. I'll add Shape Of My Heart. *sniffles*

A friend sang "In My Life" at our wedding. She has a beautiful voice, unfortunately, she took it up an octave or two, and sang it like an opera piece. Not exactly what I was going for.

I'll throw in a few of mine.
Wildfire by Michael Martin Murphey. This has always made me cry.
Are You Alright by Lucinda Williams is such a beautiful song
And whenever I need a good cry I throw on Billie Holiday's Solitude.

Judging by my total agreement with your second and third selections, I'm off to download your first selection right now.

Three songs come to mind:
"Streets of Philadelphia" by Springsteen. I bawl everytime I hear it. "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam. I know it's a remake but both versions make me tear up. "Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own" by U2. This song has personal meaning to me because like Bono I lost my dad.
The following lyric tears me up:
"And it's you when I look in the mirror......"
Powerful stuff

Liz Phair's "Friend Of Mine" usually causes me to well up. Especially these part:
"Gonna take a vacation/Stop chasing what I lack/Am I gonna get blown off as soon as I get back/On another track/Without you?"
Liz Phair's "Table For One" gets to me every time also.
