I didn't mean to suggest I thought that an NFL team in London would be successful. I don't think that at all. But as an "event" every year or so? I can see the benefit of that to the NFL and to London as a tourist destination. They sell a few more jerseys, and it sure got plenty of coverage in the news to help build brand awareness of the NFL beyond the ex pat community.
But I also can see the point someone made about how they should maybe focus on why LA doesn't have a team. I know I missed the Raiders and Rams when they moved away. But it just burned me to no end that they wanted the LA taxpayer to foot the bill of a new NFL team. If investors are going to take the profits of owning an NFL team, then they need to take the risks as well, not push them off on taxpayers who wouldn't be able to afford $100 tickets to football games.

The concept of missing the Raiders ?!?! is totally foreign to this old Elway fan. ;D But amen, Sistah Karrit, to the last part. We taxpayers got stung to build multi-gazillionaire Pat Bowlen's new stadium for the Broncos in the back-to-back superbowl euphoria and then they rubbed our faces in it by starting to suck immediately thereafter. Investing in a pro sports franchise is like investing in everything else, there's an element of risk. So suck it up!

Fans of teams that win back to back Superbowls have no right to complain about sucking for at least a hundred years or so And as much as it pains me to say this, the Broncos really haven't sucked since they won their Superbowls, they just haven't been able to win much in the post season since then...of course when the standard is back to back SB wins, that's hard to match...unless, of course, you're the Pats...

Ack...in no way did I mean to imply I was a Raiders fan! (Where is that vomitting icon?) I am a Cowboys fan since the Staubach/Charlie Waters era, so I should have said I missed having a pro team in LA so that other teams could come play them.

So the Packers and Broncos play to a tie thanks to Jason Elam's boot AGAIN, Green Bay wins the toss for overtime and get the ball, Favre takes the first snap and...GAME OVER! Jeez, I'm glad I didn't blink. I hate you, Brett Favre. I love you, Brett Favre. I hate you, Brett Favre.

I am really glad Favre is having such a great season. He seems like a really classy guy and, eventhough my team is the Steelers, if the Packers were to go to the SB I wouldn't mind if they won. I think it would put a nice bookend to a great career like Brett's, who has hung in there with his team, even after the horrible seasons they've been having.
But still, GO STEELERS!!! The hit Smith put on Chad Johnson was AWESOME! Knowing his "grillz" fell out and Polamalu handed it back to him is hilarious! And that hit on TJ Douchemanzadah...Priceless!

So, is anyone else glad that the Pats beat the Colts yesterday? Normally if the Pats lost a game I wouldn't care that much but I can't stand Peyton Manning's smug little face so I'm glad they pulled it out.

I am! I am so thrilled that they beat the Colts and happy that they are still unbeaten this season. Yeah, Pats!

I'm not! Sorry Pats fans, but I guess my dislike with this team is Bellichik's arrongance. I wanted to smack him when he gave Tony Dungy, one of the classiest coaches in the NFL, a half assed hand shake. And this is coming from someone who HATES the Colts!
