England 1-0 up at half time in a World Cup semi-final...we really did slip into an alternative universe a couple of years ago, didn't we? Brexit, Trump, and now England being not terrible at football.

Heartbroken. The refs sucked hard in the 2nd half. Croatia was so aggressive down the stretch.
I guess I'll take France on Sunday.

Bummer! Sorry lads football thinks leaving Europe is stupid too.
I was worried with the early goal that they would run out of steam or chances from set pieces. Feel for them tho and Southgate. They did terifficaly well to get this far and should be well proud of themselves.
Really hope there is no trouble with any fans at home or away after this.

I was driving back from a family visit and by half time I was incredibly annoyed by the announcers--the only fact they had about Croatia was that it if they advanced they would be the second smallest nation to do so. So the eff what? Not even that this would be their first time in the finals? Nothing about anything? Like the flag might date to the 900s and the checkerboard pattern is attached to a myth about a chess game? Ugh, so annoying.
Tottenham is my premier league team, so I'm sad for Dele Alli and Harry Kane, but I wasn't especially pulling for England or Croatia in this. I will definitely miss the Gareth Southgate memes, though.

England looked nervous from the start and Croatia knew all the words to their national anthem, so the outcome was a foregone conclusion. I hope Croatia wins the cup, I always enjoy rooting for the underdog. The legend behind their checkerboard coat of arms is cool and yeah, would have made a far better story than the pure dross spewed by the announcers. It always fascinated me. Oxynia, how are you feeling? Well Belgium's loss was a big blow for me. They play a beautiful game and I thought they were unbeatable on the counter attack. I missed the match itself because of a client meeting but it's just as well...I might have had an aneurysm in front of the TV in my office, and that's not a good look for anyone. |

That celebration footage from Zagreb looked crazy. All those people lighting torches in the middle of a huge celebrating crowd...how on earth do you do that without something bad happening?

Once Spain was eliminated, I then selected my new team based off their uniforms, and so far, backing Croatia has made me seem like a psychic. |

So the eff what?. Thank you! They must’ve said that about 60 times. And the annoyance level was upped because they never said the name of the smallest country. I had to go and look it up myself – Uruguay. |
