Tho I might be a jinx*I think I am going to cheer for England mostly because had the men made the final last year we.would.never.hear.the.end.of.it.....so heres to the Lionesses getting there first! Incidentally Megan Rapinoe isn’t starting for US and England’s goalie is out thru injury tho her substitute has already a game against Argentina under her belt. Eta * yup jinxed em! US ahead. Ok just to make things fair again I’m back on the fence cmon USA!  Yesss! Lionesses...I’ve fell off the fence! Climbs back on said fence;-) Have to say this is entertaining for a sort of neutral. Wooo hooooo USWNT! I was thrilled, even though I wasn't able to watch the whole game. Favorite quote from social media: I guess now there's regular soccer and men's soccer.
USMNT made it to the Gold Cup final but lost to Mexico, which wasn't a huge surprise, but still a disappointment. And my crush on Guillermo Ochoa remains intact, sport patriotism aside.
Question: was there a US government representative at the Women's World Cup? Macron was there as the host, and King Willem-Alexander was there for the Netherlands. I don't know who would be appropriate to be there from the US (in any political climate), or who, if anyone, has gone in the past.

I have never ventured into the Greecie Sports section before, but this Coleen Rooney-Rebekah Vardy feud is giving me life. Coleen Rooney sleuthing and setting traps to see who was selling her out? Then publicly exposes the culprit?! I feel surprisingly proud for some reason. An English Football WAG selling stories to The S*n of all papers?!?! I hope the Liverpool fans are ruthless. ETA I fully support this. |
