Oh Lordy England are in the Semi finals. Spare a thought for us over here who now have to put up with the over the top hype and it’s coming home , we don’t know yet who we face in the final, nonsense on the telly and in the media from now on. Gareth Southgate isn’t letting his players get carried away the blooming media should cool their jets too. Also my Irish anyone but England spidey senses are twitching   |

Italy and Spain.... was not able to watch the whole thing due to work but I just about fell off my chair at that last point during the penalty shootout.

What a game! I have to admit I spent most of the time just thinking that, whoever won, England will have no chance against them if we do win our semi-final.

Oh Lordy that shoot out and the whole match was something else ( I got distracted as did Irish twitter when I spotted two Irish lads in Kerry GAA football jerseys popped up cheering for Italy’s goal, Kerry jersey wearing folk have a habit of been spotted at various international sporting events it’s becoming a thing) Anyway yeah I’m with Matilda England should they win tmrw have no chance* , tho if Denmark face them I think they have a very different motivation so I wouldn’t count them out. UEFA have invited Christian Eriksen and the medics who saved his life to be at the final regardless of who is in it that surely gives Denmark some added inspiration in some way as if they need it. * tho I keep forgetting the matches are in Wembley so home advantage but is that enough against Italy. Edit I’m sure I’ll be exercising my armchair expert muscles in the Olympic thread once the Euros and Tennis is done. The things I’ll suddenly know about rowing, boxing,equestrian, field sports and gymnastics etc will know no bounds  I’ve missed big event sport. |
