I saw this last night, my heart just melted for him. The way he hugged his dog for comfort was so sweet. I think he is a good guy and has grown up a lot in the last couple of years.

I only recently (like, this week) read that Andy and his brother lived with their father after their parents' divorce but the narrative in the media was a tad different and his mum never objected to it until Pa Murray gave an interview on that a few years ago.
If you go to YouTube these days, you'll get to read interesting (as in "silly") fights between Murray and Djokovic fans over who had the more miserable childhood: the kid who survived a school shooting or the kid who lived through a war. What a stupid stupid discussion.

¡Vamos Rafa! He and Nole both seemed pretty physically exhausted (thanks for that slo-mo shot of Djokovic hurling, NBC!) and emotionally drained, and the match wasn't even that long by their standards.

I just can't get on board with Nadal. He's unpleasant to watch - especially after my mother pointed out his extensive series of OCD tics (touching the ear, the nose, the other ear, the eyebrow, culminating in picking his nonexistent wedgie). There's also pretty credible evidence that he dopes. And I'm sick of his injuries...which don't seem to prevent him from winning, yet he's always, always playing them up.
Nole is my go-to guy to root for, but it's mostly because he's funny and he's the only one capable of beating people I dislike. Then I tuned today just in time to see him double fault on Championship Point. Bah.
With Federer on his way out, I feel like tennis is in a major slump. Maybe it's my enjoyment of it, but in 20 years I've never felt this continually unexcited about the players.
And don't get me started on women's tennis. If I'm ever locked up in Guantanamo Bay being interrogated, forcing me to watch those women prancing around and shrieking would be more effective than waterboarding.

Woo-hoo! Canada's eugenie Bouchard made the wimbledon final Sat. She's made 2 semi finals at the slams so far this year and this is her first slam final. Another Cdn Milos raonic will play federer tomorrow in one of the 2 men's semis although I'm torn as I'd love to see federer add at least one more slam to his tally.

I am hoping Raonic wins this one. NOT a Federer fan.
I was rooting for Murray of course, but man, that was rough. I was hoping that Dimitrov would beat Djokovic today; nothing against Novak, but I always like it when an underdog can rise up in the ranks. I was bummed that Stan lost to Federer...after Dimitrov's loss today all of my favorites are out.

I don't want a return to the days of the dominant players winning with 40 aces a match. Of course, it's probably easier on the body, but ace after ace or huge serve dumped into the net, I find that style of tennis boring to watch.
Djokovic used to annoy me, but I do respect his game and he cracks me up when he gets angry with himself for not playing well. He's so expressive and varied with it. Murrary is miserable, too, but he just comes off like a grump. I don't know what happened to him this year. I hope he sticks with Mauresmo as his coach for a while and he wins at least one slam during their time together.

Congrats to Novak! Do glad for him and his sanity; don't know how he would have coped if he lost this final as well. Also, I believe he's getting married within the week too so busy and big week.
I'll be nice and say that Fed was awesome in hanging tough with Novak. I'm still glad he didn't win. So glad Kvitova beat down Bouchard. I don't like when I'm forced to like a player because she's pretty and blond. Glad Petra shut down the hype.
