I love Novak. Been watching him for quite a while now and it was thrilling to see him keep winning.

I am pretty impressed with they way they distribute the public tickets for Wimbledon. You send them a SASE and they send you an application which must be returned before the 31st December. Only one application per address. Starting in February they tell you if your bid was successful. You only get two tickets (though I hear sometimes only one) and you can't scalp the tickets. They can ask for ID when you come in (though that has not happened to me yet.)
But they seem to do a pretty good job at keeping the tickets out of the hands of scalpers. And if you can't use the tickets, they will buy them back from you. Last year I got tickets for Centre Court (we sat right underneath John McEnroe's booth) and saw Serena Williams play Hauntchacova (sp?). There were a lot of rain delays, but it was so much fun.
If anyone is interested in trying to get tickets, go to Wimbledon.org starting in September. They will have the address to send the SASE to get the ballot. You don't have to live in England to participate.
Good luck!

And Amelie, I don't think we'll see her for too much longer. You were right. It's looking more and more like that time. Disheartened Mauresmo could quitAnother linkI don't know how dramatic L'Equipe was being, but at least when Amelie does finally leave the game, she won't go out as the female Rios. --- News, 2-27-2008 Kim Clijsters had her baby. It's a daughter named Jada. I hope she comes back on tour. She doesn't have to be insane like Lindsay and get back to playing after only a few months, but I'm crossing my fingers for the 2009 season.

I doubt it. She's made it pretty clear she's done playing and wants to focus on her family. She's not just dealing with a new baby, her father was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few months ago.

Wow! Andy Murray beat Federer in the firstround of the Dubai Open. I think Roger is a bitter boy now that he has lost two in a row. Here is his very snarky comment on Murray:

Federer has one of these mini slumps like every year - last year it was losing 2x in a row to Canas. I do think he needs a coach though - Federer is always vulnerable early in a tournament - he is definitely one who gets better with every match and he has not played hardly any tennis this year.

Just popping in to say congrats to Roddick! It seems Connors leaving is the best thing to happen to him in a while. He beat Rafael Nadal in Dubai last night and today, he beat Novak Djokovic to reach the final. This was a tournament that no one thought he'd last one round in, now he has an excellent chance to win the whole thing (Playing Feli Lopez in the final). Who knew that his forehand was in Dubai all this time? Once again, congrats to Andy.
