Haha! I love all that gossip, pathtaken. Verrrryyyy interesting. Too bad I'm a Kurt Busch fan, I think I may be Tony Stewart's type. That's funny that it took your husband so long to find a new favorite driver, but I guess not totally surprising. NASCAR fans are notoriously loyal...just look at me, gotta love that #2 Dodge!

It was hard for me to find a new number one driver when Dale died as well. Gosh, I will remember that horrible day for the rest of my life. I did support Steve Park from then on as his win at Rockingham in a DEI car the following week was one of the most emotional wins I have ever seen. Sadly he got severely injured in a Busch race later in the season and never fully recovered. I would love to see him make a comeback though.
I used to have loads of gossip but now the only thing I know is that Dale Jr still likes them real real young. Legal. But barely.

More gossip please!

Kimi won the world championship! ;D
I really thought he didn't have a shot since Hamilton had to finish so far back. We had friends over to watch the race: 2 Kimi fans, 1 Hamilton fan, and 1 Alonso fan. We were all jumping up and down when they came back from commercial to show Lewis slowing down and dropping back to 18!
We did panic a bit when we saw that they might DQ the BMW's because of fuel temp. Whew! Overall, a great end to the season.

So how is everyone feeling about the race in Atlanta this weekend? If your guy isn't in the Chase are you routing for someone else? I think it is well established that I'm routing for Kurt Busch. Even though he dropped down to 10th place after Martinsville, I'm still hoping he can drive the Dodge #2 car to a strong finish. What are everyone else's thoughts?!

I want Tony to stomp all over the Hendricks Boys. Other than that, I am looking forward to the next year.
I would be really happy if the Cup and Busch Series would settle on a name that isn't dependant on a sponsor. Why not NASCAR Cup? It took me quite a while to stop saying "Winston Cup". I just got used to "Nextel Cup" and now it will be "Sprint Cup"?!?!? Enough already.

Most NASCAR fans are known for being extremely loyal to the brand/product that sponsors their favorite driver, so I would think that the same logic might apply to the sponsor of the overall championship. Companies will pay big bucks to sponsor the championship because of all the exposure they get from it.

That's cool. But they could go with "NASCAR Cup Series sponsored by whoever" instead of the revolving door of sponsor names.

I don't like the revolving door of sponsors either. Though I'm kinda glad its not sponsored by the cigarettes anymore.
Yeah I'm looking forward to next season now. Just because the last 3 laps summed up Junior's season. When you are fighting for a win and your tire just plainly falls off? Its a bad day.

I'll still watch the rest of the cup races but I'm pretty sick of the Jeff and Jimmie show. Tony is pretty unlucky.
