I figure one thread is probably best, rather than having a NASCAR thread and one for everybody else (which would be ignored, much like reality ). Especially since the other series are losing drivers to NASCAR anyway! (Montoya, Franchitti, Villeneuve, Carpentier, Stewart...) So, anybody have any opinion on the Spanish request to the FIA to have the Maclaren pits monitored during the Brazilian Grand Prix? (Feel free to derail into NASCAR discussion - I don't watch it enough to make an intelligent start to a discussion.)

Conversely, I only minimally follow F1, but am a NASCAR fan. My favorite drivers are Bobby Labonte & Kyle Petty, although my mom, through osmosis, has kind of gotten me to be a Jeff Gordon fan. I'm also in my first season of fantasy NASCAR, but am only 8th out of 12 in my league. Enjoyed ehat I saw of last night's race; was bemused by the various drivers, who spun out due to their own fault(s).

Just cause anyone can drive a freakin' stock car when they get booted out the harder series! ;D Mr. Britty worked for a Cup team and a few various other teams once upon a time.
I'm a huge Kimi fan so currently a Ferrari fan. I don't think having McLaren watched is going to make any difference. The spying was much deeper than something that just went on in the pits. The politics in F1 just crack me up. There's always something crazy going on and everyone just kind of goes along with it. I am so excited about the Brazilian Grand Prix next weekend. I hope Hamilton goes out early.

I've recently started following NASCAR, but I also don't know a lot about it yet. It is more interesting than I thought, though. My favorite driver is Kurt Busch who drives the #2 Dodge car. Even after finishing 26th this weekend, he still managed to keep is #7 standing. I'm wondering if he could win the championship.

Well as my AV shows, I'm a Tony Stewart fan. I like that he's honest, funny and sarcastic. And his interviews are'nt full of trying to get all his sponsers names in. I think this year it will be Gordens year to win. I'd love to see Tony win but it's Gordons to lose.

Tony is da Man! I'll put my avatar back up when he wins another race.
Man, I went to sleep at 19 laps to go and missed Newman hitting the wall.

Well I'm an Earnhardt Jr. Fan. Not the crazy, psychotic ones who have to get another 8 on their tattoo-type of fan. Heh. I like the Tony Stewart though. Its been such a tough season though, I stopped getting my hopes up that he would even finish races let alone win them.

Yay isabella19! A fellow Shrub fan. Warning since you are new to Nascar. Be very careful where you broadcast that lol. I had a 97 sticker on my car a few years ago and got egged by some Jr fans.
Of course I am used to being unpopular in Nascar. Was a Dale Earnhardt fan from way back before it was considered acceptable and currently cheer not only Kurt but Robby Gordon, Ryan Newman and now JPM as well.
And sorry guys, I hate Tony Stewart. Biggest crybaby of all time IMO. Great race car driver though. I have to give him that.

That's awesome K. Barrett! I know it can be hard to come by Kurt Busch fans. haha! I think he is funny, though, and definitely spices up the NASCAR world. I recently discovered that you can listen to Kurt's live in-car audio, I'll post the link below. I might try to check it out during the next race because I think it would be really interesting to hear what goes on inside a car with Kurt and his Dodge team during a race. The driver's success really depends of their crew, so it would be interesting to see how they interact. Plus, sometimes the race commentary bores me a little bit. www.nascar.com/promos/dodge/index.html

My hubby was a big Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan and took it real hard when he died. He took a long time to pick a new best driver 4evah! and chose Tony Stewart when he finally did. He thought his attitude was very Dale Sr. like. I can't really get into racing much, too loud, too repetitive, too hot and stinky. But I lurves to tease my guy about the drivers. Tony is such a teddy bear looking guy and so short. NASCAR pushing the younger drivers trying to get chicks interested is hilarious. Michael Waltrip is flaming! I don't care how hot his wife is.
Gossip I know about some drivers, Dale Jr is supposed to have an illegitimate child in Ocala somewhere, heard it at a liquor store.. Sterling Marlin has one in Johnson City TN, an friend's in-law is the Mommy. Tony Stewart hit on a friend's wife, asked her for her # right in front of him. [She's petite, blonde and preppy if anyone wants to know his type.]
