NOW we're talkin'! I'm from North Carolina, what can I say? Basketball runs in our blood. And I'm going to see my (preseason #1-ranked) Tar Heels play an exhibition game this weekend, so I'm a happy camper.

Knesaa, since you're a Tar Heels fan, does that mean you hate Duke? Because I do. (and Kentucky, as long as I'm at it). But I do love the college basketball season. Go Hawkeyes! (they're going to suck this year, no doubt about it, but I still support 'em)

You betcha I do, Woodchipper! I find that this hatred is what unites me with Maryland fans, Iowa fans, Kansas fans... pretty much everyone but Dook, er, Duke fans. It's a beautiful thing.
Beating Duke in the Dean Dome my senior year ('05, the same year we last won the national championship) was easily one of the happiest moments of my life.

Yay, Duke hate - it brings people together! It must have been great to watch the Tar Heels. I didn't actually go the UofI (just a native Iowan), so I've never had the excitement of watching a real college game. Just lots and lots of games on TV.

You should try to check out a college game in person if you can, Woodchipper. It really is a fantastic atmosphere. 30,000 fans crammed into the Dean Dome last weekend to watch Carolina play an exhibition game. You can only imagine what it's like when Duke comes to town. I'm sure UCLA games are awesome too, proper stranger. Preseason #2 ain't too shabby.

All y'all need to tune in the Colorado women's basketball team when you get a chance. You'll be treated to sophomore Whitney Houston and freshman Brittany Spears. No joke!
Yes. Yes, you can.

This is the first year since '05 that I've gotten back into my normal fan mode. I went to the exhibitions (great chance to get good seats without spending an arm & leg) and the game vs. South Carolina State (because it wasn't televised!) and it was completely worth it. I know I won't be able to afford to do that anymore, but thank God for DVR and HDTV.

Another Tar Heel, awesome! I was at the SC State game, too, and enjoyed the Bojangles biscuits deal the next day. I probably won't be able to make it to many more games either, FiggyPudding, because I live in DC, but all the rest of the games are on TV in some form. Crappy DC-area Comcast doesn't cover ESPNU, but I can always head to the sports bar up the street. I think that as long as Tyler survives his nightly hacking and Ty has no more injuries, we should definitely be a contender in March. I'm impressed with how we've looked during this extended road stretch; it should serve us well come ACC time.
