I've always liked the dress, but I'm surprised she resurrected the hat. In 1981 the fashion critics called it "an omelet."

Apparently Anne's great love is Camilla's ex-husband. A new biography claims Anne was quite the "frisky" princess when she was younger, and wanted to marry Andrew Parker Bowles, but he was Catholic, and in a relationship with Camilla. They dated for 7 years before marrying, but he cheated on her with everyone, including Anne.
To get back at Andrew, Camilla started dating Anne's brother Charles.
Those run-ins had to have been so awkward...
The young Anne is a dead ringer for Sophie Hunter (Cumberbatch's wife).

As for the rest, wow! I wonder what Anne thought about Camilla marrying Charles?

Right? What a tangled web they weaved.
I think the younger Anne was quite stunning, and I really like her, despite her one hair style and obliviousness to fashion.

I don't think she's oblivious to it - I think she doesn't care. Okay, she's not likely to make the best dressed lists, but she won't make the worst either. I'm also totally distracted by the idea of Anne silently seething over Camilla and longing to bop her one with a Queen Anne solid silver epergne.

In honor of her birth, an ONTD poster made a post about her attempted kidnapping. I had never heard the story! That was a quite a tale, and it's remarkable that no one died.

I love how nonchalant she was. "Now's your chance, run". Of course, she said that, while doing a backwards somersault out of the back of her Rolls Royce. That 3rd Vogue cover is gorgeous. Thanks for the story Babycakes.

That’s the most British attempted kidnapping ever. All politely asking the princess to get out of the car. Someone thinking, “That’s a liberty. He needs sorting” in reaction to seeing the kidnapper shoot a cop. I love that the Fug Girls have a running (joke) narrative that Anne is secretly a detective solving murders in between royal appearances. Here’s the introspective they did on Anne a couple years ago. Fun 70s fashions!

I could just hear Mr. Steed saying "Don't be silly, old boy!" to a bad guy waving a gun. It really is remarkable that everyone who was shot recovered. Amazing story.

Thanks for the story Babycakes. You're welcome. Anne is apparently the hardest working royal, but also super low-key. That story was amazing. I know that they're trained from birth to be cool under pressure, but goodness! Watching people being shot, being pulled out of a car by an armed gunman, and she's all, "I think not!" Hilarious! And the, "That's a liberty!" line? I cannot. I'd love to see that re-enactment. And I agree about the Vogue cover. Stunningly glamorous.
