She used to go to the same nail salon as me way back when she was really famous, post Basic Instinct. She was incredibly beautiful, without makeup even, just beautiful. Her looks may not be your taste, but there is nothing off or wonky about her features. It's a little eerie how "perfect" she looks. She was definitely rocking the diva 'tude back then. I remember she was looking at a magazine and then got on her phone and either called the Valentino store or Valentino himself to ask that they send over a handbag she was looking at in an advertisement. She was like "I'm looking at it right now, I have to have it." She may have been FOS, but it was fun to watch. She never wore jeans, she was always in some elegant get up. We once had a nutty conversation about toe rings, cause she asked about one I was wearing. I also like the story she told on Inside the Actors Studio about being with Roy London when he died. But yeah, she's prolly batshit, and the karma comment was way out of line.

Actress Sharon Stone has sparked criticism in China after claiming the recent earthquake could have been the result of bad "karma".

The US star, speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, linked the recent disaster to Beijing's policy on Tibet.

She said: "I thought, 'Is that karma?' When you are not nice, bad things happen to you."

But Stone added she "cried" after the Tibetan Foundation asked her to help quake victims.

Stone, 50, said: "They wanted to go and be helpful, and that made me cry.

"It was a big lesson to me that sometimes you have to learn to put your head down and be of service even to people who aren't nice to you."

She's 50 years old and she's just realised that? Stupid, self-absorbed bitch.

Yes, and I think we can also attribute her part in Casino to Scorcese and DeNiro putting their heads down and being of service to her. It made them cry.

I think only a particular cinema chain is refusing to show her films; it's not the government's doing (at least, not on the surface). I'm actually happy about that -- Sharon Stone's comments were beyond asshattish, but I've always hated how triggerhappy China seems to get when it comes to banning people/movies/whatever that offends the government's national sensibilities. But an independent cinema chain? Ban away!

She lost custody of her oldest son.

Sharon Stone has lost physical custody of her eight-year-old son Roan, according to a court minute obtained by Entertainment Tonight.

According to documents detailing a September 12, 2008 custody hearing, her ex-husband Phil Bronstein "shall have permanent sole physical custody of child. Court finds that respondent [Sharon Stone] failed to meet her burden of proof and denies respondent's [Sharon Stone's] request for modification of custody."

The judge notes the order is permanent unless there is a change of circumstances.

In October 2007, a judge had ruled that Stone and Bronstein, a newspaper editor, had "joint legal and physical custody" of Roan, whom they adopted.

I didn't know there was anything scandalous going on there.
