This is totally just the vibe I get from her, I have no inside knowledge, but I suspect she may just be a little too wacky and crazy (in a nonviolent way) and eccentric to be a good mom.
I know that about myself. I'm just not mom material.
Which is why I don't have kids.

Does anyone else wonder where she gets her adopted kids from? They're always these little blond boys. I wouldn't be surprised if she was buying them on the black market or something. She's just seriously creepy.

It sounded as if, going back and forth between L.A. where she lives, and San Francisco (where he lives) was hard on the kid.

Wacky and eccentric would not hold up in family court as a reason to take away custody completely. It would have to be on the level of negligence, neglect, or abuse. Otherwise, dad would get primary custody and mom would have some level of visitation rights.
As far as her adoptions go, a black market is not an issue. There are white infants for adoption but it's a small supply and a massive demand thing. The bio moms of those babies can be incredibly choosy about who they place the babies with. Rosie O'Donnell was very candid about how she thought her celebrity and wealth actually helped convince the bio mom to choose her. I wouldn't doubt that Sharon Stone had a similar advantage.

When she and Phil first split up, their custody arrangement called for Roan to live with him for 6 months, then her for 6 months. That can't be good for a kid, changing households every six months. I hope that Phil is a good dad, because I agree that Sharon does have something Joan Crawfordish about her.
