Why the vitriol against Eugenie? I thought the Daily Fail loved the royals?

Wow, the Daily Mail are going for it. The top story on their website (don't judge me) is about how Eugenie and Jack have an ancestor in common who was in the slave trade. I quote: I think we can guess how the wedding coverage is going to go. They usually like to figure out common ancestors. IIRC, they did that with Charles & Diana and Charles & Camilla. I think this is the first time they've gone for a slave trader though.

Wouldn't half of colonial Europe have slave traders or otherwise slave-adjacent dealings in their ancestry? I mean, please.

Unfortunately, I think the number of Daily Mail readers who would be horrified by this "revelation" is smaller than one might hope. And yes to Mugsy's comment as well.

That cake sounds better than Meghan and Harry’s cake to me (I’m not a fan of lemon cake.)

My guess for the dress designer for tmrw is Vivienne Westwood. I've seen her in a couple Westwood dresses and it suits her nicely.

If it's Vivienne Westwood that actually make me interested in looking for photos of the dress. Otherwise, eh.

My first thought was that the DM can't traffic in dog whistles 99% of the time and then ask the same group of people to be appalled by someone owning slaves centuries ago. Red velvet is the devil's cake.

Red velvet is the devil's cake. Not the fun, campy devil, either. Red velvet is a waste of cake space, and petitesuite once again speaks the truth.
