The CEO of capital Records came out and said he had to sit her down and tell her that going 4 years in between albums isn't going to cut it. He didn't mention saying that the next album needs to not suck so hard, but he probably told her that too.
Not that her participation is really necessary to produce an album (except for the part where she changes a couple of notes on the songs so she can be included in the songwriting credits and the part where she warbles out something for the Autotune guy to work with) but she spends most of her time these days on side projects and endorsements. When you start doing stuff like American Idol, it usually means your day job is on hold (or in your rearview mirror).
I didn't find her public therapy sessions sincere at all, and I don't think it is a good way to promote albums.

Chained to the Rhythm really was more of a slow burn hit than a first single. It's really grown on me in the past few months. She should have held off International Smile from the previous album and made this the first single from Prism. This was more in the vein of the first 2 albums, and may have helped things along.

Congrats, she and Orlando seem happy and like a fun pair. But I did laugh over the new song “Never Worn White” when she has, in fact, been married before. Yes, I realize it’s probably just a metaphor for how she’s never truly been committed or whatever, but it still seems silly.

I’m not a fan of her music but I am a sucker for pregnancy announcements. Congratulations to them!

Yes, I realize it’s probably just a metaphor for how she’s never truly been committed or whatever, but it still seems silly. She wore gray, not white for her wedding with Russle Brand so it makes sense.
