You guys. I will fully admit to loving these books in all of their cheesy glory, but this movie looks terrible.
EW cover notwithstanding, I do think they got the casting for Edward right, but I'm having a hard time coming up with anything else that looks even slightly positive about this. Except maybe that it looks so bad that it might be the most hysterical thing I've ever seen.
ETA: I picked up my avatar from one of the posters at Snarkfest, where they are having a ball with this movie. *still the sparkliest* is how I figure Edward must sign his journal entries.

Ditto to your post celest.
I saw the trailer yesterday before The Dark Knight, and it looks so so so bad. I don't even know if it will be cheesily enjoyable.
The actress they having play Bella can't carry the trailer - I can't imagine suffering through her in the film.

Twilight did not show before The Dark Knight for us! Bummer. We had to sit thru a strange preview for Keanu's new movie that looks like a rehashing of War of the Worlds.

I remember this series when it was first published, but after the trailer before Dark Knight, I heard someone in my theater mumble, "But what's it about?" Seems like they were too vague on the whole vampire thing for non-fans.  |

The books suck, but I know I'm going to see the movie when it comes out, as cheesy as it sounds. At least the movie won't have any of Meyer's atrocious writing (okay, the dialogue might still be cringeworthy). I did like Rachelle Lefevre when she was in Big Wolf on Campus. Plus, it'll be amusing to see Sharkboy acting angsty around Bella. However, I was not dazzled by the trailer. Robert Pattinson does not look sparkly. And Kristen Stewart seems perpetually bored. Nikki Reed as Rosalie is disappointing. She's supposed to be the most beautiful person ever, yet Nikki isn't even the most beautiful person in the cast. She totally only got the role because of her connection with Catherine Hardwicke. |
