The new trailer, combined with Robert Pattison's opinion that Edward is a manic depressive who hates himself, has finally made me interested in watching this. Seeing RPattz look all hot and vampy probably tipped the scales for me, too. Rowr! You and me both. I loved the trailer they released yesterday and it definitely made me more excited for this movie!

I haven't read the books and have been scared of those crazy people on ONTD who every day (it seemed) posted pics from the set while they were shooting. But I do like Rob Pattinson and was a bit baffled when I read comments elsewhere in which people called him ugly. Now, I'm guessing that this character is supposed to be really beautiful in a breathtaking way. I'm not sure as to where the film makers were supposed to get such a creature from since nobody looks that perfect . I agree that Rob may not be Zefron-pretty but he has an interesting face IMHO and doesn't look like everyone else out there. Anyway, so he's a vampire and she's what, a zombie? The girl in the trailer definitely looks and talks like one... No, she's just the clumsiest girl in the universe. For those who read other places, what's the take on Nikki Reed as Rosalie? She's supposed to be the most breathtaking creature in the universe, and that casting is baffling me. (I realize that Reed and Hardwicke go back forever, and that's the probable reason, but still.)

The only vampire character in that movie that's even remotely attractive is Kellan Luntz as Emmett - and that's probably because I have left over love from Stick It (which should go in the Unpopular Movie Opinions, I guess).
I'm pretty underwhelmed with Nikki Reed as Rosalie, simply because Rosalie is supposed to be so beautiful. Nikki Reed is stunning as a brunette, as a blonde, not so much.
WTF is up with Jasper's hair?

I thought that all the casting for the Cullens was crap- except Alice. She is exactly how I pictured her. I don't think that Peter Facinelli has the gravitas to play Carlisle, Nikki Reed looks terrible as a blonde, and althought I really like Elizabeth Reaser, she has an interesting, quirky face- not breathtakingly beautiful. At first I was really meh about RPattz, but now I see it. He is not male model gorgeous, but he does have an ethereal look. Can't wait for the movie!

In my head, Alice looks like that one girl from the Go-Go's with a squeaky voice. (I think she was from the Go-Go's. She definitely wasn't from The Bangles.)

Me too! (Btw, her name is Jane Wiedlin and I had no idea she's 50! She looks awesome! Ahem, sorry for the OT)

I agree about Nikki Reed - I think looks-wise they could have cast someone who could pull off the gorgeous blonde role. I haven't seen ANY clips of any of the other Cullens except for the two little blips we got in the trailer, so I can't say if I think they are all able to act the part. I've only seen Nikki in Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown and I didn't think she was a terrible actress. Hopefully she can pull off the character, even if she isn't the best choice looks-wise. When I started reading the books, the cast already had been in place, so I was already picturing RPattz as Edward, but I think he's perfect for it. I think he's gorgeous and he quickly moved to the top of my To Do list. I'm hoping Peter Facinelli can pull off Carlisle - I've always liked him. Run time was released on Monday - the movie will be 120 minutes. *squees* I was so afraid they were going to slaughter it down to around 90 minutes, but they didn't. YAY!

I might totally be in the minority on this, but I found the first 400 pages of this book super boring. The trailer for the movie (I don't know which one I saw, maybe it wasn't the new one) looked equally uneventful, with Bella creeping around, looking scared for the first minute and a half. I don't know if I can take 120 minutes.

Ok, as I said before, I haven't read the books yet so I don't know a lot about all this. And I like Rob Pattinson and hope he gets a decent career out of this. But...all the footage I've seen from this (including a longer clip that's somewhere on ONTD now) makes the film look so...bad. Like, really bad. I hope for the (apparently numerous) fans of this that the actual film is better :-(.

I'm going to try to get my roommate to see this with me opening weekend. I'm not expecting it to be good, but I am expecting it to be hee-larious.
