Robert Pattison seems fine in his role. I think he managed to sell his lines from what I could tell in the trailer.

I'm not sure what to make of Kristen Stewart in the role of Bella. I've seen her in other stuff and she's generally struck me as being a good actress. But in this movie......she seems so...depressed. Is her character supposed to be so melancholy-boring? She doesn't seem to be a fascinating kind of sad, more like boring-sad. I guess I would be sad too though if I had to say some of those lines. Seems like she got stuck with the worst lines in the movie.

The other actors look giddy and excited. These two, however, look like their dog just died when talking about this film.

I'm guessing they've seen the movie. I mean, it looks truly awful, not even lulzworthy, just butt clenchingly embarassing and horrid from what I've seen so far.

I'm not blaming the actors for this mess, they can only do so much. Rob and Kristen seem almost apologetic in their promotion. Dang it, I feel kinda bad for them but I think as awful as the film may be, I don't think bad reviews will sink this movie. The audience will be there no matter what.

I think they're really, really tired. Kristen is currently filming a movie, and was just in Madrid promoting the movie, so I'm guessing she's beat. Rob has been all over the place the past few weeks - Austin, TX (for another movie he's promoting), Mexico City (where he was MOBBED), back to LA and then to Rome, all within about a week to week and a half. From what I've been able to read about these two, neither one of them really knew what they were getting into when they signed on to this movie, and I'm guessing all this attention is very overwhelming for them. I can't imagine.

I think this movie is actually going to be good. I watched one bit of the footage shown in Rome, and it was pretty awkward, but the scene is supposed to be. I love what I've seen in the trailers so far.

What do you think of Rob Pattinson?
He's a very mesmerizing person to be around. He's got such a compelling personality. I don't think you'd want him for a boyfriend. And you couldn't just be his friend because he's terribly sexy!

Were you worried when fans were outraged over his casting?
It broke my heart. Because I've had my tiny bit of celebrity, I'm aware of how hurtful those things can be. I apologized to him for ruining his life. He said his mom was sending him links like, ''Oh no, they called you a gargoyle!'' They just raked him over the coals. The way he took it was a lot more positive than the way I would've handled it. He was like, ''I'm going to prove them wrong. I'm going to go out there and prove them wrong.'' The movie hasn't come out yet and he's won over 99.9 percent of the people who didn't approve of him as Edward. And when they see the movie, oh my gosh, there's no way not to love him! It's really too bad in some ways because Twilight is going to be limited by the fact that this is a vampire romance and it's basically aimed at teens. If not for that, his performance in my opinion is Oscar-worthy.

When you returned home after a grueling tour for Breaking Dawn, you discovered that your unfinished manuscript for Midnight Sun had leaked onto the Internet, and you released a statement saying you were permanently shelving the story. Do you still feel the same?
The funny thing about that statement is I didn't actually write the majority of it. I wrote about three single-spaced Word document pages of just real pain — with sort of a laugh on the end so everything was kind of tongue-in-cheek. And there were lawyerly people who thought it just wasn't a good way to do it. I didn't want to feel misrepresented in the letter and other people didn't want me to be too emotionally vulnerable. So in the end only the one or two sentences written by me seem really jarring, and people didn't get that there was sort of a joke in there. For example the part that's me is where I said, ''If I wrote it now everybody would end up dying.'' But that was a joke! And it sounded so serious amidst all the lawyer talk and I think my fans thought, Wow, she's threatening to kill everyone! [Laughing] I felt kind of bad about that. I never felt any anger, actually. Just a lot of sadness. I mean it was a sucker punch — like someone came up behind you and just hammered you in the kidneys and you had no idea it was coming.


What stories are kicking around in your head?
I'm a little more hesitant to say what I'm working on, though, because people for some reason seem to take that as some kind of contract: ''You said you were working on this so now you have betrayed my trust by not doing it!'' But I'm thinking I'm actually leaning towards the mermaids' story right now. Years ago...I tried to write an epic poem. It was supposed to be, like, ''The Rime of the Ancient Mariner,'' right? And I couldn't make it work, it was horrible. But I loved the story in it. So that has become part of the back story to this one. Some of the characters are mermaids. Though, again, they're not mermaids like you've known mermaids. They're completely different. And I'm not going to use the word ''mermaid'' in the book — they're sirens.

I'm looking forward to Rob's Oscar worthy performance.

Stephenie Meyer is delusional. I wonder what she's going to do with the mermaids, now that she's butchered vampire and werewolf legends. Will said mermaids even live in the water? Will they DAZZLE?

Entertainment Weekly makes it up to RPattz after last summer's debacle.

Apparently a whole bunch of Twilight fans sent angry e-mails to EW demanding a reshoot. Yeah.

It seems neither lead has a PR person. From Kristen's interview with Entertainment Weekly:

At one point, the studio began to worry their young stars had mistaken this for a Bergman movie instead of a romantic teen fairy tale. ''We were like, 'We're going to play this real' and the studio was like, 'But it's fun. Lighten up!''' says Stewart, who launches into an imaginary rant at the studio suits: ''You knew what you were getting when you hired actors who aren't Disney kids! We're actually going to consider the characters, and not just smile on our marks, and hope we're in focus.''

Most of the kids in the Disney stable aren't very talented, but it's quite tacky to rag on them. I suppose Kristen Stewart is gunning for an Oscar too with her timeless delivery of the line "Your skin is pale white and ice cold"

After being cast, Stewart performed a pivotal love scene on Hardwicke's bed with the four leading contenders for the role of Edward, including Robert Pattinson. ''Catherine liked a couple of the guys, and I was like, 'Are you joking? I can't do the movie unless Rob does it,''' Stewart says. ''He got it, and we could, like, see each other.'' As Hardwicke puts it, ''She would have strangled me if I didn't pick him.''

Stewart, who was just 17 when she shot the movie, was uncompromising about what she'd allow her character to do and say. ''We had to rewrite and improvise a lot of the most intense scenes, because Kristen will not say something if she doesn't feel good about it,'' recalls Hardwicke. ''Kristen is very tough and she does not tolerate bulls---.''

Ah, but she signed up exactly to tolerate this bull---. I'm not impressed with her tough act. I'm also not quite sure about Catherine's apparent willingness to have her actors dictate the script.

For most movies, I would think the actress was being a brat, but Twilight? Eh, the original dialogue probably was that sappy and Mary Sue-ish.
