One more person who liked it here. Sure, it was cheesy and I almost wonder if they should've even bothered with the obligatory "plot", but KStew and RPattz had awesome chemistry, and I thought the movie was even intentionally funny at points. Love the taking her to meet the fam scene, and RPattz's version of Edward was so socially inept, his delivery made me love Edward even more than I did from the books.

I thought Robert Pattinson was hilarious. There were times when he seemed like CAMPY-bad (particularly during that first scene in biology), but I can't blame him for that because the character is absurd. But as others have commented, I liked how Edward was socially awkward. Both Bella and Edward were WAY more likable than they were in the books. (I liked that she was less of a bitch about her friends.)
My LOL moments: the scene where Edward reveals his sparkle, the scene where Edward and Bella are just laying there in the grass staring at each other, any time Jasper showed up.
I can't remember if the books described Rosalie as having terrible fashion because man, they dressed that girl terribly.

Tee Hee!
I have no intention of seeing this flick, but from what I've read and heard about the series and movie project, itself, that re-cap is brilliant!

I saw it and liked it. It's actually a lot of fun and improves on the book in a number of ways (though that wouldn't be all that hard--and SM's stupid cameo made me roll my eyes). It could've definitely been better, but I think that about most movies.
Agree. I think both Edward and Bella were more likeable than in the book.

Agree. I think both Edward and Bella were more likeable than in the book. Bella was FAR more likeable in the movie than in the book. Exponentially. She actually seemed to care about her father and her friends, especially her cute little thumbs up to Jessica at the dance. Until her hospital bed freak out at the end. I guess that was true to the book and rather annoying.

Well, my sister gave me the puppy eyes and I agreed to go with her to see it. Maybe it's because I had low expectations (I've never read the books) but I liked it for the most part. Sure it had it's cheesy moments and I'm sure I wasn't supposed to laugh at Jasper's "pained" face but I liked it for the most part. RPatzz's tried a little to hard to be brooding and dark at times but I thought his performance was pretty good. The scenes were Edward is clearly allowing himself to be happy were RPatzz's better scenes though. Kristen also had her weak moments but again pretty good overall. RPatzz and Kristen do have great chemistry and I found myself happy when they finally gave in to their feelings.
I must admit though I wish there had been more of the Cullen family and their dynamic. Yes, I know this is Edward's and Bella's story but some background on the family would be nice. Such as why did Carisle decide to become a "veggie" vampire? How did he chose who to make a vampire and who not to? He's a doctor. He's had to see his fair share of people die. Is this explained in the book and not included? If so, I guess they can explore this in the future films.

I think the Cullen family background is explored in great detail in the later books (I think in the 3rd book?) so I'm sure the movie will at least touch on it.

I am waiting for someone to see this drunkenly with me. I haven't read the books but have got some idea from here and cleolinda's recaps but it looks made of LULZ. Hence, the drunken viewing.
More importantly, Defamer is reporting that Kristin Stewart and RPattz are gonna be paid 12 million each for New Moon. Seriously? The latter obviously has a passive-aggressive hatred for the material and the former admitted as recently as a day ago that she hasn't read any of the series beyond Twilight. The consensus hasn't been super-positive regarding their acting, so...just, jesus, 12 million? Did any of the HP kids get paid that much after *one* film? (Which is profitable *thanks to* its low-budget?)
