I did a search (twice) and didn't come up with anything. Delete this if it's a duplicate, please!
CNN.com is reporting that she has been cast as Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter. For me? Perfect casting.

Remember when she had that gorgeous mane of curls back in the 80's and was always in the period garb?
Who would have guessed she was such a weirdling?

It's weird. I agree that it's perfect casting but I also always pictured her playing Tonks.

Don't have much to say about her except that I've always thought she was beautiful. And I loved her in Fight Club.
She and Tim Burton are perfect for each other.

They really are. In a good way.

Because of J.K. Rowling's description of Bellatrix as handsome, I was thinking more of someone like Angelica Huston, until I read the last book (in which Bellatrix and her sister are kind of portrayed as hottie types). I can deal with Helena Bonham-Carter in the role. (Poor dead Charlotte Coleman, as she appeared in her role as Scarlett in Four Weddings and a Funeral, is my ideal Tonks.)

I agree re: the Tim Burton thing. They're both pretty, shall we say, different, but they seem like they would really complement each other.
And I think that, had the movies been made in the 90s, she would have made a great Tonks, but she's simply too old now. Not that she's old by any scale, but Tonks is supposed to be, what, 24 or 25? Carter is 40.
Of course, I always pictured Keira as Tonks.

Is it wrong that I just got really excited about that? Haha. Is there a Tonks casting already? <goes to check Imdb> I don't see anyone as cast yet. That would be so great if Keira played her. Pirates and Harry may be too many franchises, but Ian McKellan did both XMen and LOTR and it hasn't hurt his career one bit!

I like many of the films HBC has appeared in, but I have a lingering dislike of the woman herself because she gives off a whiff of homewrecker -- she was with Kenneth Branagh when he and Emma Thompson broke up, and there she was again when Tim Burton and Lisa Marie called it quits (or, rather, when Burton called it quits). Bit suspicious, that.

Bit suspicious, that. I didn't know Tim Burton was taken when they hooked up. But I still haven't gotten over Kenneth and Emma. Even though I blame him more, there is definitely homewrecker cloud around Helena.
