Why aren't these episodes longer? This one was only 50 minutes! HBO, don't you go around shortchanging me on the vampires. You don't want to see me irate!
Eric's looking gooooood. I think Alex is going to do us all proud.

Eric did look good, exceptionally so. If I had been Sookie, I would have sent Bill home. Shame when it showed him stand up it was really quick, because he looked damn good in those leather pants.

Very short on screen time though, was Alex, and that made me a little angry! He wasn't in the clips for next week's episode, so please, someone tell me there is much more of him coming up!! And oh, puh-lease, between Eric and Bill. Bill looks like a pale wee little thing in comparison--pick Eric, Sookie!

I'm in the minority in not thinking AS is particularly hot but then I'm not in blonds. I did think though that his character, Eric, was fascinating and I can't wait to see the further interactions with Sookie. I'm sure that he's going to think Sookie very useful to his future enterprises.
I wish they would quit showing Sookie's brother. He's the most boring part of the show to me and it's not because he's fugly. He's so stupid, it hurts.
What doesn't hurt? The chemistry between Bill and Sookie. YOWZER. I saw Stephen Moyer on an episode or two of the Starter Wife last summer and thought he was cute. But he's smokin here. The scene in the BWM where he "glommed" (did I get the right term?) the policeman was pretty damn sexy.

I think it's because the actor sucks. Hello? Casting Directors? There are actually actors out there who are really gorgeous, with really amazing bodies, WHO CAN ALSO ACT.
Ahem.

Clementine, first, I'm so sorry if I wasn't gaga over AS. I actually thought of you when I saw him because you were the one to tell me about him here. And I feel badly that I'm a bit critical about the show. As for the Idiot Brother, I'm sure it would help if his body didn't look like a worm. I mean, I'll freely admit to being shallow and I could be less hostile if he didn't look like a bony rodent. But it isn't really that. It's not the guy's looks, or even the actor's talent. I think it's the underlying character being portrayed as a total redneck hick, bigot and one-dimensional caricature. I haven't read the books, so forgive me if I'm going on just the stuff in the TV show, but the way they show him is so one-dimensional, it's boring. He's a sex fiend and he's great in bed. Okay, got it. And I got it the 4th and 8th times too. Can we move on now? I do like this show though, even when I'm not always sure why. I watch it and sometimes, like tonight, it passes way too quickly and I regret that it's ended. But I get irritated by the big splaying caricatures they have. And not just with one character or two, but with most of them. They have the dumb sheriff, the slutty waitress, the redneck sex-crazed hot young brother who is a total jackass, the caring Southern granny, the angry black woman... Blech. I was a big enough Six Feet Under fan to expect a bit more from Alan Ball. Thing is, I could take some of the more minor, possibly understandable cliches, if the brother wasn't represented so largely in every episode. The Angry BLack Woman is another cliche too (and almost as annoying) but, still, I would actually be more interested in learning about why she is the way she is, as opposed to hearing another frickin word about the apeshit stoooooooopid brother.

Ok, the brother is actually starting to grow on me, because there's got to be a point to a character who's this dumb. Plus, the flashback with Jason & Tara as kids helped.
I was expecting more from the vampire bar. I did like the Sukie/Bill interactions a lot more.
I still need Tara to dial it down considerably. Lafayette, I can handle. "You're no duke."

I'm starting to like the brother as well. I'm also starting to like the way Tara sees past his himbo exterior and really cares for him, but he's still so dumb that he doesn't get it. A little bit of a cute romance to offset all the sexy vampire romance can't hurt.
What was up with Sam sniffing the bed and acting all horny? Are we supposed to believe that he's the killer, cause I'm not buying it. Nice try, though.
