She's famous and has the money so if she had a fainting spell or something, I could see her concerned mother rushing her to the hospital for being malnourished and the ER people rushing her through. It doesn't sound impossible.
Her frame doesn't look like an anomaly for an 18 year old. So that wouldn't make me automatically make me think she's doing drugs or something. I think it's quite possible that she's naturally thin AND eats badly. A lot of 18 year olds are like that.
I really don't get the whole Justin Bieber thing AT ALL, though. If there's anything I can't quite comprehend, it's that.

Selena's low iron comments are quoted in People magazine:

Okay, thanks for the heads-up, but this chick is telling a tale of different ailments for sure.
With that said, most people are malnourished and low in iron is not anemic.
I agree to this though, chick is dumb.

Which makes me wonder, with all that's riding on Selena doing whatever it is she does (acting? singing?) why aren't her handlers scheduling regular meals and naps? Well, exactly. It's a real shame the industry doesn't take steps to protect and look after performers and their health, especially young performers, because it would be more sensible in the long run. But the world just isn't like that. The entertainment industry is hardly unique in this. Multiple factors have created a very strong culture where personal wellbeing is considered secondary at best. Partly, there's so much pressure on females to be skinny, not eating properly is normal or even desirable. Partly it's that the hours are so insanely long, taking proper meal breaks or getting enough sleep/taking naps is really out of the question. Insane competitiveness froths it together to the point where you feel you have to push yourself to dropping point. 'Handlers' are much more likely to fetch coffee (or uppers) than go to all the effort required to rejig a schedule. I mean on my last film I was being picked up at 6am and not getting home till 10pm 6 days a week and that's the norm. That set was actually great about actor wellbeing and including proper breaks and meals, and that's such a rarity everyone was raving about it. You don't want to get a rep for being 'difficult' by being the only person insisting on a proper meal break if everyone else is taking 5 minutes to wolf a sandwich. Not to mention, on set you usually have craft services, but often (like on tours) you might have only a McDonalds or whatever the local gas station sells. Very big, wealthy stars can snap their fingers and get anything, but that doesn't overcome the pressure/expectation to push yourself and not eat properly. I don't want to be some obnoxious actress going, "boohoo we work long hours" because I know plenty of people work long hours and performers are far more privileged in all kinds of ways. But a lot of the ideas people have about the industry simply bear no resemblance to reality. I don't know what Selena's schedule or exact circumstances are like, but nothing about this strikes me as remotely unusual because I've seen it a million times.

This makes me long for the days when our starlets had real scandals like crotch flashing, visible cutting marks and mysterious white power on their faces.
We must be bored if we are bothering with this malnutrition talk.

I dunno, it's nice to have a breather between Charlie Sheen's psychotic breaks, Lindsay's drama, and Amy Winehouse insanity. I'm sure it will all start up after the house arrest/rehab/whatever reason Charlie Sheen is scarce ends.
In fact, Gomez's generation seems pretty drama-free so far, which is nice. I know Miley Cyrus has had some dumb moments and scandal, but she's nowhere near the level of the generation before her. And Demi Lovato has really handled herself with class since rehab--and unlike her predecessors we weren't "treated" to watching her downward spiral via paps in real time--so I am rooting for her.
Now watch, two years after this post everyone I just mentioned will be smoking crack, half naked wandering the streets crying with fake boobs and Botox foreheads...

I thought she looked as if she is playing dress-up in an old brothel's closet.
That look is not happening.
Plus, she looks like Eddie Munster.

I'm really loving her looks for her latest video shoot over the past weekend. Very few people could rock that red outfit.
