Jen in Dolce & Gabbana at the SAG awards. If you told me this was photo was from 2002 I could believe it. Jen hasn't aged and her dress looks oddly dated in style.

Wow, I'm impressed! It's a gown that needs a youthful look to pull it off successfully, lots of women would have a hard time doing so, but she looks great.

I get an 80s prom dress vibe from this Yeah - she looks great (and is aging beautifully), but my first thought upon looking at her dress was "Prom."

She's a walking advertisement for Neutrogena skin care (LOL, I know she probably uses A LOT more than just whatever she's selling on TV).
Now that you've said "prom" I can't unsee it.

I get an 80s prom dress vibe from this Agree, but most 40 something women would look ridiculous in a dress like this. She manages to carry it off.

I never understood why she never became a big movie star. I mean, she did some high concept movies, and we all know that 13 Going on 30 (which I ADORE) was Hollywood totally trying to make her the next Julia Roberts/Meg Ryan/Sandra Bullock-style romcom queen, but even that movie was not the big box office smash that Hollywood wanted it to be [although it has become sort of a minor cult favorite that is endlessly played on TV]. She was a likeable, gorgeous, young, charismatic white woman making some crowd-pleasing movies...and yet, she never really [completely] clicked with audiences in the way Bullock, Roberts, Ryan, Whetherspoon, et al did. Heck, even Jlo at some point became a rom com queen. I wanted 2018's Peppermint to become a hit so bad because I wanted her to finally get a box office hit credited to her name alone...but alas, it was not meant to be.

I think she scaled back her career when she started a family with Ben Affleck. In their marriage, his directing career seemed to take precedence, with him working on Gone, Baby, Gone, The Town, and Argo in pretty close succession. She chose smaller indie projects that probably fit better with her family schedule. He never seemed that supportive of her career anyway and always acted like another child she had to take care of. Gah I can't stand him.
I would love to see her more often in lead roles, and playing something other than "loving mom" or "vengeful mom" but I think she's comfortable in that territory.
Alias is still one of my favorite shows of all time. Even when the plot went into ridiculous territory, her action scenes were awesome.

Looking at her IMDB, it seems to me that she has worked pretty consistently but she has done a TON of crap. Like...a ton. Really a lot, with the crap. I think she has a lot of natural charm, but I don't know that she really has the drive or desire to seek out particularly challenging roles. I assume she's happy with the career she has, so more power to her.
