Good news is he is already 83 years old. He won't live forever. He must be so pissed that people are still talking about this. I hope the media goes through this whole thing once he passes too! I hope all the skeletons come tumbling out of his closet once he's dead. I hope his reputation (what's left of it) is completely destroyed.

BUMP. Guess what? Roman Polanski Seeks To Settle His Statutory Rape Case Once And For AllETA: This has always irritated the crap out of me. If the judge didn't want to accept that plea agreement, he didn't have to. That's why he was the judge. Polanski was the criminal. Exactly. Remember when Jared the Subway guy had copped a plea deal? At sentencing, the judge was like, "Screw your plea deal!" and gave him a much longer sentence. Someone in the comments section on LAist was claiming that the judge had declared his intentions to reject the plea agreement; someone had leaked it to Polanski's people, and that was why he ran. I wonder why Roman Polanski wants to try to settle this now. It'd be hilarious though if the LA County justice system were to pretend to go along with it, get him into the States, and slap some cuffs on him when the time is right.

His sense of entitlement thinking he gets to choose his own sentence drives me crazy. (And I'm still not buying this "50 years" thing AT ALL.)
And needless to say, 6 weeks in prison for what he did is bullshit.
ETA: I know Polanski claims the reason why he fled is because he heard that the judge would reject the plea. To which I say, "So"? I still don't get how that's a defense. That's tough titty is what it is.
I do find it hard to imagine that even in the 70s, a judge would say "time served" to a child rapist and set him free because he'd been in jail for 5 weeks. THAT would have been as outrageous as 50 years.

You guys are so mean. Here's this poor, ill-treated child rapist who spent a whole 42 days (days!) locked up in a prison like some kind of criminal before he managed to flee to another continent and eke out a miserable living as a highly regarded director and artiste. Then he spent another 250 or so days under house arrest - trapped in a large, luxurious home and forced to exist on gourmet meals and champagne. But this isn't enough for the haters.
Why won't someone think of the poor, deprived child rapist who's prevented from going to Hollywood? Hasn't he suffered enough? When will the European Court of Human Rights step up and say enough is enough? Oh, my heart breaks for him! No, really, it's in tiny little pieces on the floor.

I do too. My first thought was that he might have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and wanted to wrap this thing up once and for all for the sake of his family and his conscience. But that would be giving him waaaaaaay too much credit. My next best guess is that he has to get his ass back to Hollywood, do some schmoozing and make a few deals in order to sustain the elegant artiste lifestyle he believes the world owes him.

“I pleaded guilty. I went to prison. I have done my penalty. The case is closed,” Polanski told the Associated Press in 2015. LAist
"He wants to freely travel in Europe and visit Tate's gravesite at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. He has not been able to visit his daughter in London, either." TMZ
Love these quotes. He is so full of shit. You did not serve your time, asshole! You fled the country before sentencing. And the poor guy cannot freely travel in Europe or visit his daughter. The mean judge should just drop all charges immediately. I wish we could get that mf off our continent too.

Even by his bullshit definition of "serving his time" he still has 6 days left on the sentence he was never sentenced to. Wait until he's on his deathbed and let him live his last 6 days in Chino. I support that. He was able to move freely around Europe for years because of the Schengen agreement. That's how he was able to live in a villa in Switzerland even though he's exiled in France. It's just Britain that wasn't able to go to. Now that there are anti-immigrant border controls he's actually got to stay within France. Poor thing. I still can't get over the scenario he wants us to believe. Polanski's judge: "Yeah, yeah 48 days. That sounds about right. Give me the forms to sign...Wait, I changed my mind. Cross out 48 days and write 50 YEARS."

I hope people, journalists, newspapers etc. will continue to confront him with that till he takes his last f-ing breath.

This man makes me so sick. He wants to roam around? Well, I want to know that sexual predators that drug and anally rape children do serious time, and are prevented from hurting others. Let's both piss in our hands and see what happens first, K, Ro? Scum.

Ugh. He'll obviously never have to answer for what he did so at the very least he should be treated like a legal pariah for the rest of his life.
