Perez is a prick. He must have had a horrible childhood. I just read on that the family's been told she is brain dead and won't recover. I think it would be so hard for me to let a brain dead loved one go. Can't the brain rebuild itself? I don't know. Either way, it's tragic and I feel for her children.

Perez is pond scum. Is he the one reporting that she's brain dead? I Googled her and it only came up with reports of the accident that we've already heard.

The brain can't rebuild itself; it's a big ball of nerve tissue, which doesn't regenerate. That's why brain death is pretty much just death.

I really hope this isn't true. She's a great lady, a great actress, and her family with Liam is so beautiful.

I just don't understand how her brain could have been hurt that bad from falling, not hitting her head on anything (per NYT article) and being taken to the hospital. When it was first reported, I was imagining her skiing into a tree or something. I hope she was just hospitalized as a precaution due to the headaches. Really hoping she pulls through!

Perez is backpeddling, but then citing sources and providing an email from Time Out New York:

According to multiple reports, actress Natasha Richardson is being airlifted to a new hospital and is still alive.

Time Out New York is reporting, however, that the actress is "brain dead" and will not survive.

Monday afternoon, Lindsay Kaplan of Time Out New York sent out the following press release.

As they were the only ones reporting this, PerezHilton.com emailed Time Out New York asking, "This is 100% true?"

Lindsay Kaplan wrote us back, saying, "Unfortunately, confirmed to us by friends of the family. Terrible news. I used to be their boys' camp counselor."

After more than 40 minutes, Time Out New York emailed us again to clarify, saying:

Okay —

Sorry about the confusion. We spoke to source, who confirms "brain dead and will not survive", and therefore, her friends and family are mourning her unofficial death.

Then he proceeds to blame them and posts their contact info. Unreal.

Who knows what to believe?

I really hope that she's doing alright. Any reason why they'd move her to the States?

I wonder if she was wearing a helmet. I'm helmet obsessive and I cringe seeing people ski or board without one. There are no do-overs when it comes to head injuries.
