This sounds absolutely horrendous. My prayers are with her and her family. Such a talent, and it seems like she put her career aside to be with her kids. I heard lovely things about her professionally when I worked in entertainment. Sending good thoughts her way. I know, she always seemed like a "real mom". You could tell she's the one raising the kids, not some nanny.

Time Out NY has updated their site: I haven't heard anything else to confirm this. I wonder if other journalist/news outlets are waiting for a more concrete confirmation? I think that is wise.

I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery. I've always liked the two of them as a couple - really low-key yet successful and they always looked so happy when photographed together. *fingers and toes crossed* ETA: How reliable a news source is Time Out NY?

It seems a bit sketchy that they are the only ones running this story, just because one of their reporters used to be her kids' camp counselor. Would that give the reporter a close enough connection that friends of the family would be calling her to share news that Natasha is brain dead? It's also skeeving me out that the headline is "RIP Natasha Richardson" but they go on to say that she is not actually dead. Even if brain death leads to eventual death, she's still alive.

I agree, this is extremely creepy and I hope, hope, hope the story is being blown out of proportion. God, her poor family.

I'm such an idiot -- I thought she was in 101 Dalmatians, but it was her sister! Anyway, I like her quite a bit, and this news is really tragic.

I totally agree. And I don't know how reliable their sources are, either. It's beyond me why someone would just splash that on their site to get the 'exclusive'. It's someone's family you're messing with here, folks. Jeez. I'm really, really hoping that all this isn't true. But like it's been said, head injuries are very tricky and could cause great harm.

This is terrible news and I really hope it's being over-blown. She seems lovely and I love her and Liam together. I hope she'll be OK.

FWIW, from TMZ:
Sounds like better but not entirely good news.

I hope things will be ok. I keep thinking about her kids. I hope they're ok. A few years back, my son was snowboarding and did a jump and fell flat on his back..head hitting the ground. Thank God for his helmet. He got up and skied down the hill. Medics were waiting for him. He broke his wrist and fractured his spine in three places. I worry everytime he goes on the slopes. Thank God his love is now golf not boarding. My prayers are with her and her family.
