I think until a legitimate source reports her as dead or brain-dead we really can't tell. My heart aches for them too. I've like Natasha ever since The Handmaid's Tale and you could tell she and Liam were falling in love in Nell. I hope that she recovers soon.

How freaky is this accident? She was apparently in the middle of a wide open beginner's slope, no collision..
The New York Post is also reporting that she is "brain dead."
The fact that she was moved to a third hospital, and that - with all the stories and misinformation floating around the web - the family has made no statement whatsoever doesn't bode well, I fear.

The move to a NY hospital makes sense. Don't they live in NY? Their lives and support system are there. If it is safe to transfer her there, why not be closer to home? The level of care and medical attention she can get in NY certainly will not be compromised.
What a tragedy.

Wow. That is freaky. I am so afraid of hitting my head. It started some years ago when I heard about the girl who was hit in the head at a hockey game with a puck. She went home and was fine. Things got worse and I believe she died the next day. Ever since then, it's been a big fear of mine. My little nephew fell out of his chair and his head hit our granite floor. I was freaking out, and thank goodness he's fine. I wonder if the slope was very hard and icy.

I just heard on the radio that she was flown out of Montreal not that long ago, heading to NYC. No word on her condition.

I just read the same thing (brain death) on my local news radio's web site (1010 WINS). They're usually reliable.
This is awful.

The New York Daily News says that she was being flown back here, but nothing further.

The poor family. It makes me sick to my stomach to think about it. I've skiied since I was 5, never had a bad fall. Something like this really makes me think.

Huffington Post has now gone back to saying "brain dead".

I will continue to be optimistic for Elizabeth James and keep her in my thoughts and prayers. What a horrible accident, I really really hope things turn out ok.
