Thanks eve. I was just reading the comments on Perez Hilton's site. They are giving him so much sh*t A lot are demanding that he offer up an apology to the family. I think he should.

Yeah, it's not good. Flying with brain swelling - not likely. Although her family has the means to fly TO her if they need to see her, say goodbye. But it just feels like risking a flight means that there is no hope.
Anyway, they're supposed to release a statement tomorrow. Sigh.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family. So sad.
Perez is despicable, isn't he?

Apparently, CBC made a report that the family will be issuing a statement tomorrow. So tragic. Life truly makes unexpected turns.

I'm speechless. I just watched The Parent Trap over the weekend. She is a lovely, luminous actress.
How awful for her family and friends.

I'm so confused about the fall. It sounds like some freak accident. However, the fact that the instructor wanted her to see a doctor sounds like he saw something that he felt needed further help. He even went back to the hotel and stayed with her asking her to see a doctor. It must have a been a pretty bad fall.
I feel so badly for that family... I mean, to have a fun day at the slopes turn into this is so sad and tragic!

Wern't her children with her in Montreal? I think it was a good idea to take her home to NYC too. Maybe there's a better hospital there that's has better success with brain trauma. NYC is her home and her family is there. She needs to be with them and they with her. This makes sense to me, if I were sick I would want to be close to home.

Wow. That is freaky. I am so afraid of hitting my head. It started some years ago when I heard about the girl who was hit in the head at a hockey game with a puck. She went home and was fine. Things got worse and I believe she died the next day. Ever since then, it's been a big fear of mine. My little nephew fell out of his chair and his head hit our granite floor. I was freaking out, and thank goodness he's fine. I wonder if the slope was very hard and icy. Assuming what we're hearing is true, I wonder if the fall was the cause, or if she had a stroke or some other medical event and just happened to be on skis at the time. It would be really difficult to have a fall that damaging on a beginner slope. If a beginner slope is icy is is quite possible to have a really nasty fall. I had a wipeout on a bunny slope that my husband witnessed and to this day will not talk about. These things can so easily go either way, it seems. I do hope she recovers.
