hate her, she's awful. Didn't used to be. Does anyone remember when the Today show was an actual news program?? And it was good! Jane and Tom and Bryant and even Katie before she became so annoying.....they reported news, a little celebrity stuff, a little cooking. Now it's become "Entertainment Tonight/People/US Weekly" with a little news thrown in for the sheen of serious news.
My brother really can't stand her....right before Thanksgiving, she was taking calls along with some professional cook about cooking the Thanksgiving meal.
My brother wanted to call in and ask her how to get shit stains out of the oven.

Is there something wrong with her? Her voice has been hoarse off and on for months. Just seems .. odd.

Maybe it's all the speed wrecking her voice*.

I was just coming here to ask about her voice!
I've been on vacation this week and I typically don't get to watch a lot of 'Today'.
I can't stand listening to that scratchy voice. It's so distracting. What is going on with her? Since it's been over the past few months --- it can't be just a little cold or flu.
Is there something seriously wrong with her or is years of talking at broadcast level for 3+ hours a day wearing on her?

I hate Katie Couric damn near as much as I loathe Gwyneth Paltrow, and that's a lot. ;D Her too-young clothes/too-short skirts, the blonding of her hair and personality, the way she talks over the guests on Today....she's just horrid.  |

Maybe her new voice is her latest attempt at creating "sexy Katie"? When we first met her, she was perky Katie, and she wore a lot of pink, and bows and crap. Then, she decided to be "serious news woman", and even became Katherine instead of Katie for a bit. Then, about the time she started dating Tom Werner, she decided to become "sex kitten Katie". It started with growing out her hair, then working out, then wearing shorter skirts and high heels, and making sure that camera shots included her legs. Maybe she's decided that a sexy sultry deeper voice is all she needs to overtake Pam Anderson as the sex goddess of a generation?

She mentioned earlier this week that her doctors recommended voice rest, but she hadn't been following orders. I think there's something medically wrong with her vocal cords.

Well, with so much grim news everywhere, I was just hoping it wasn't some kind of cancer. Your mind automatically jumps there after a while..
I'm not a big fan of hers either. I get so tired of seeing her Malibu Barbie tan legs. Why do we never notice the legs of other women the same way we keep seeing hers?
