I made it through the show until exactly 9:30 last night, now I'm through. Yes of course Kurt ridiculously got an internship with a fashion designer . . . who immediately confessed all of her deepest darkest secrets and feelings of inadequacy to him, then made a heartfelt plea to him to help her fix her company, and then sang and danced around the room with him and Rachel.
I also realized why this show plunged in quality, and it's not just the atrocious writing. They've stopped putting any effort whatsoever into the music. I mean NONE. No more amazing choir versions of songs that made me rethink the originals. Now they just pick one singer and have them sing a pop song with a backing track. They aren't even good covers, it's just karaoke.

I don't know. This show really is terrible, but this season is still streets ahead of last.
As implausible as the scenarios are, I'm quite enjoying the New York scenes. I actually like Rachel more now that she's a bit of an underdog and Kurt's story is ridiculous, but fun. I don't like Kate Hudson or SJP there, though. They need to bring Santana and Puck to NY and permanently dump Finn (unless they send him back to McKinnley to teach Glee).
On the McKinnley front, I don't think Brittany is strong enough to be the anchor vocally and they keep giving her too much stuff to do. I like the blond kid's scenes with her though, and his scenes with that Blaine kid.
I don't care about stupid, inappropriate Mr. Schu or his lame woman-child bride. I don't care about the new kids.
Ginger, you are SO right about the music. I started watching Glee because the vocal arrangements made me think twice about songs and the numbers were unique and seemed to fit into the show. And they had broadway tunes! That you never get to hear on TV! Now it's just a break for a weak pop music video. Terrible!

I think Finn needs to go to LA and live with Puck and enjoy life.

I got an email from a friend asking why I don't download the songs anymore. In my response I included a little blip of Waldorf & Staler: "How do they do it?" "How do we watch it?" "WHY do we watch it?" "Why do YOU watch it?" I think that about sums it up.

This week will be what, Episode 4? I still haven't bothered with this season yet.

They should have went ahead and did the Kurt, Rachel and Santana (I didn't hallucinate reading that Santana will be Kurt and Rachel's roommate, right?) spinoff instead of this cutting back and forth. There is no one left in Ohio that's interesting enough to even sustain half an episode.
A New York show with the LA bound kids dropping by once and awhile could have been a decent show.

So...
I just watched the sad episode, and it's clear that Finn is going to be taking over for Shue for at least a few weeks. I really like Finn, I love his dumb look and facial expressions of pain! I don't know why I have such a soft spot for him.

I haven't watched in over a year but last night's school shooting ep was pretty emotional and had major character consequences.

I haven't watched for a long time, but tuned in for "The Quarterback" last night. You could tell that the cast members were really grieving their real-life friend, but as an episode I thought it was pretty flat. There must have been some reasoning on the part of the show-runners to not discuss how Finn died, but in my experience with high school kids, they WOULD think it matters, and they WOULD want to talk about it. Some of the song performances were wonderful, I'll give it that.

I know that the last time I watched this show was Sep 28 2012 because I posted here. But I did watch last night and I thought they did the best job they could have, within the confines of a cheesy show I'm not planning to return to. I liked that they said right off the bat that what he died of didn't matter and left it that. That was a sticky area, since the episode was a dual tribute to both the character and the real life actor. And they are still free to explore a cause of death for Finn in future episodes without it having such sensitive implications. And I'm glad that the original cast members came back. It would have been better with Dianna Agron there too, but apparently Ryan Murphy doesn't like her. I thought Mr. Shue stealing the jacket was really creepy. I don't think it was intended that way, but that scene was weird. The music was blah.
