I don't think I'm going to buy this one. I'd love a spoiler. I'm searching the web right now and finding only bits and pieces.
It seems this book has continuity issues? Like Harris rewrites her own history?

I really, really wanted to buy it, but no way am I paying $20 for it. I re-read the last one (Dead in the Family) to remind myself of what happened when I realized that, oh yeah - nothing happened! Except that stupid "break a spell with a kiss" thing that almost had me throwing the book at the wall in disgust. I'm invested in the series though so I will buy it eventually, but I'll wait for a sale or to get it used.
I second the desire for spoilers though!

I have it on order from the library; I'm something like 128th in line, but that way I can read it, and if I like it enough I can buy it in paperback later.

Mrs Cathead, I haven't read the book yet, but I read a review that said that the book establishes some past relationship between Eric and Sookie's fairy grandfather Niall - that Eric was keeping him informed on how Sookie was doing from like, the beginning of the series, and that it was because he expressed concern for her that Niall originally sent Claudine to her in Book 4 - that is apparently hard to buy considering the previous timeline, where supposedly no one but the fairies knew about Sookie's fairy blood until (I think) that book where the pyramid-shaped hotel blew up. I guess it's hard to judge based on a short description, but with the way Charlaine Harris has been phoning it in I'm less inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt on stuff. Also, here is a spoilery review that made think of this board, since it mentions Sookie's ridiculous outfits. All I can say is LOL. My copy should be arriving Monday or Tuesday. I swore I would not buy the books in hardcover anymore because the last one was so blah (and I don't feel like my expectations are that high, this is my fluff reading), but the Borders preorder was super cheap, so then I did.

My copy ended up being super-cheap (the Aussie dollar rocks right now ) but I'm still waiting for it to arrive on my doorstep. *taps fingers*

I got my copy yesterday morning but it took me all day to get up the desire to read it. I was seriously going to toss it aside in favor of re-reading Anne of Green Gables but I thought I'd go ahead since it's new.
Nothing spoilery so far, except it hits my squick button that Sookie is going on about how handsome her fae relatives are, even the one that looks just like her brother and apparently she's calling the two-natured shapeshifters "twoeys" all of a sudden which hits me as kind of disrespectful and lame.

This just makes me even more glad that I washed my hands of this series last book.

Day 2- I’m about 2/3 through and nothing I’d consider plot has happened. But these might be considered spoilers:
Yeah, she found out that Eric had been the one feeding info to Niall about her well-being, but that was okay since he didn’t mean anything bad from it…. Okay. But Bill was spying on her from the start and that was bad. I don’t get it.
She finds a letter from her grandmother which confirms she cheated with a fairy. Doesn’t seem necessary but she got a souvenir from fairy world for Sookie, the purpose for which has yet to be revealed.
Sookie impulsively broke the blood bond between her and Eric to see if she still loved him without it. Of course she does in the most unconvincing ways I’ve seen. Eric’s okay with this, as he is apparently no longer incredibly possessive and is only worried that it could be used against her if anyone finds out.
Which is likely because Amelia, who helped her, immediately goes and tells Alcide, who thinks it’s a great idea to show up naked in her bed, an idea set up by Sam’s new girlfriend Janalynn which makes Sookie declare them to be enemies. Sookie tells Alcide she doesn’t like him anymore and sends him away.
Bill’s girlfriend Judith, who I totally forgot existed, overheard him tell Sookie he doesn’t love her (Judith) and immediately packs up and leaves. Sounds too easy, but we’ll see.
Debbie Pelt’s sister Sandra tries to kill Sookie a couple half-assed times. By now she’s escaped and still out for blood but that’s not enough for Sookie to keep from wandering the woods at night. There was no way I was taking that book out in public on my commute so I’ll see if I can finish it tonight and see if anything happens.

I've skim read the whole book and now am going to go back and read it properly. I won't reveal anything except to say: DISAPPOINTED. I know it's fluff but I want good fluff, dammit!
And on the outfits? There is a real doozy in this book; a dress that Sookie describes as a giant U-shape. It dips right down the front and right down the back. Nice. ;D

So, something that we might have seen on an episode of Dynasty in the 80's?
